盐城市位于江苏省中部，东濒黄海，南与南通市接壤，西南与扬州市，泰州市为邻，西与淮安市相连，北与连云港市相望。在全省城市中占的面积最大。现辖2市辖区、2县级市、5县。

Yancheng is seated in central coastal area of Jiangsu Province, facing eastward to the Yellow Sea. Yangzhou and Taizhou to the southwest,Huai'an to the west, and borders Lianyungang to the north occupying the largest area among the cities in the province.Yancheng administers 9 county-level divisions, including 2 districts, 2 county-level cities and 5 counties.

盐城在南暖温带到亚热带之间的过渡区，有明显的气候温暖湿润的海洋季风气候特点。盐城的天气是相对温和的，但在冬季和夏季的温度可能在一年内变化很大。

In the transition area between the south warm temperate zone to the subtropical, the weather of Yancheng has strong features of oceanic warm and humid monsoon climate.The weather is relatively moderate, but temperature in winter and summer may vary greatly in a year.

2010年盐城市实现地区生产总值2266亿元，比上年增长17.8%，实现五年翻一番。2010年盐城市实现社会消费品零售总额759.5亿元，增长19.1%，在全省排名第一。完成全社会固定资产投资1890亿元，同比增长26%，我市服务业增加值首次突破800亿元大关，达到806亿元，同比增长13.6%，占GDP比重达35.6%。全年注册外资实际到账13.02亿美元，总量继续保持苏北第一.

In 2010, Yancheng'S GDP has been two times to reach RMB 226.6 billion in five years, increasing by 17.8% as comparied with that in the same period of the previous time. Its retail volume of social consumer products, standing at 759.5 billion RMB in 2010, increasing 19.1%, ranks the first in Jiangsu Province. It has reached 189 billion RMB in fixed assets investment , an increase of 26% as comparied with that in the same period of the previous time, and the added-value of service industry for the first time exceeded 80 billion RMB, up to 80.6 billion RMB, an increase of 13.6%, accounting for 35.6% of GDP. The registered foreign capital of the whole year actually credited $ 1.302 billion into account , maintaining the first volume in northern Jiangsu;
