俞敏洪:100个句子记完7000个托福单词(附100个句子)20多年前,我在进行托福教学的时候发现,大量同学在学习上存在三个问题:1、背单词很难;2、理解句子很难;3、阅读理解很难。

其实这三个问题是连在一起的:词汇量不够必然影响到理解句子,理解句子结构的能力不强必然影响到阅读理解,而阅读理解能力的解决必然来自对单词的理解和对句子结构的理解。

上述三个难题导致很多学生在学英语的时候失去热情,我就想起了我在高考的时候用的方法。

我高考考了三次,第一次英语只考了33分,第二次考了55分,第三次的时候英语考了90多分。

第三次为什么会有这样一个飞跃呢?完全是因为第三年我学英语的时候碰到的一件事情。

当年,我们的英语老师总结出了高考中他认为包含最重要词汇、句子结构、语法等的300个句子,对我们说:“同学们,这300个句子非常重要,你们在座的如果能把这300个句子背得滚瓜烂熟,那么英语分数就能提高。

”当时我把高中英语课本上40多篇英语课文全都背得滚瓜烂熟,但是英语分数还是提不上去,好的时候70多分,不好的时候60 多分。

那这300句会不会管用呢?我就想,死马当作活马医,试试再说,于是就开始背这300个句子。

背完10句之后,我就想随手把这些句子写出来。

但是我却发现,我对这些句子的理解并不够深刻,比如说句中出现的单复数、定冠词、介词、词组的用法等我其实并不理解。

这样把300句背下去,其实英语水平也不一定能提高多少。

所以当时我做了一个看似很笨的事情,就是按照自己的理解,把这300句的英文全部翻译成中文,然后再根据我自己翻译过来的中文,将之回译成英文。

这一回译,我就发现了问题:第一,我翻译过来的英文句子不如原句精练、地道;第二,我发现原来自以为很懂的句子结构译过来却跟英文原句不一样,通常都是错的。

另外,还有一些定冠词、不定冠词、单复数等语法点也常常是有问题的。

在这个过程中我发现,原来我自以为不是问题的事情,在汉译英的过程中就会出现问题。
