比如教学“Module 4 Robots Unit 1 Robots will do everything.” What canDaming’s robot do?Will they do the housework? Will they do our homework?

On the positive side, it makes our lives easier and more convenient. We can communicate with people from all over the world in an instant, and we have access to so much information at our fingertips. But on the negative side, technology can also be addictive and can take time away from more important things like spending time with family and friends.I also learned about the different types of technology that are out there, like smartphones, computers, and social media. It's amazing to think about how far we've come in such a short amount of time. But we also need to be careful about how much time we spend on these devices and make sure we're using them responsibly. One thing that really stuck with me from this unit is the importance of balancing technology with real-life interactions. It made me appreciate all the things that technology can do for us.But at the same time, I also started to think about the negative side of technology. Like how it can be addicting and make us less connected to each other. I never realized how muchtime I spend on my phone until I read about it in the book. This unit is all about inventions and innovations, and it made me think a lot about how cool and amazing human beings are!First of all, I learned about some really cool inventions like the telephone, the light bulb, and the airplane. It's crazy to think that there was a time when people couldn't just pick up a phone and talk to someone far away, or turn on a light with the flip of a switch. These inventions have made our lives so much easier and more convenient. But what really blew my mind was learning about some of the modern inventions and technologies that are being developed right now.

Reading "Fourteen Steps" by Hal Manwaring has left me deeply moved and introspective. The story is a powerful testament to human resilience and the transformative power of chance encounters. From the very beginning, Manwaring weaves a narrative that captivates the reader with its raw honesty and emotional depth. He begins by describing his tumultuous childhood, filled with hardships and struggles, setting the stage for a life marked by adversity. However, as he transitions into his first life—a period of happiness, success, and contentment—we are reminded that even the darkest of beginnings can lead to moments of joy and fulfillment. But just as life seems to be on an upward trajectory, Manwaring's narrative takes a turn, plunging us into the depths of despair as he is afflicted with a slowly progressive disease of the motor nerves. This is the beginning of his second life, a life defined by physical limitations and constant struggle. Despite these challenges, Manwaring finds solace and a sense of purpose in the 14 steps leading from his garage to his kitchen door. These steps become a symbol of his determination to keep living, a daily reminder of his resilience and his will to overcome. The real beauty of "Fourteen Steps" lies in the way Manwaring portrays the transformative power of human connection. On a dark and stormy night, when he finds himself stranded with a flat tire, a blind man and his granddaughter come to his aid. This chance encounter forces Manwaring to confront his own self-pity and selfishness, revealing the profound impact that helping others can have on one's own life. As he watches the blind man and his granddaughter change his tire in the rain, Manwaring realizes that he has been blinded by his own suffering, unable to see the needs of others. From this moment on, Manwaring's narrative takes on a new direction, as he embarks on his third life, a life dedicated to helping others. He resolves to not only climb the 14 steps each day but also to make a positive impact on those around him. This shift in perspective is a testament to the human spirit's capacity for growth and change, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. In conclusion, "Fourteen Steps" is a powerful and inspiring story that leaves a lasting impression on the reader. It serves as a reminder that even in the darkest moments of our lives, there is always hope and the potential for transformation. Through its poignant portrayal of human resilience and the transformative power of human connection, Manwaring's narrative urges us to persevere through life's challenges with courage, compassion, and a willingness to help others.。

After reading the short story "Tall Guy and Shorty," I was deeply moved by the message it conveyed. The story revolves around two characters, Tall Guy and Shorty, who are polar opposites in terms of physical appearance. Tall Guy, as the name suggests, is tall and stands out in a crowd, while Shorty is, well, short and often overlooked. Despite their differences, they form an unlikely friendship and learn valuable lessons about acceptance and self-worth.One of the main themes that resonated with me is the importance of embracing our differences and celebrating individuality. In today's society, there is often a pressure to conform and fit into a certain mold. Tall Guy and Shorty teach us that it is okay to be different andthat our unique qualities are what make us special. For example, Tall Guy's height may have initially made him feel self-conscious, but through his friendship with Shorty, herealizes that his height is something to be proud of. Similarly, Shorty's height may have made him feel insignificant, but Tall Guy helps him see that his worth is not determined by his physical stature.Another theme that stood out to me is the power of friendship and how it can transcend societal expectations. Despite their physical differences, Tall Guy and Shorty form a deep bond and support each other through thick and thin. This reminds me of the saying, "True friends are like diamonds – bright, beautiful, and always in style." Tall Guy and Shorty exemplify this, as they are there for each other, offering comfort, advice, and laughter. Their friendship teaches us that true connections are built on acceptance, understanding, and shared experiences, rather than superficial qualities.Furthermore, the story highlights the importance ofself-acceptance and self-love. Both Tall Guy and Shorty had their own insecurities and doubts, but through their friendship, they learn to embrace and love themselves for who they are. This is a valuable lesson for all of us, aswe often tend to be our own harshest critics. We should learn to appreciate our strengths and accept our flaws, just as Tall Guy and Shorty do.In conclusion, "Tall Guy and Shorty" is a heartwarming story that reminds us of the significance of embracing our differences, the power of friendship, and the importance of self-acceptance. Through the characters of Tall Guy and Shorty, we are reminded that true beauty lies in our unique qualities and the connections we form with others. This story serves as a gentle reminder to celebrate our individuality and cherish the friendships that enrich our lives.

Happiness Is a State of MindEvery day of your life, it is important to take the time to “smell the roses” — to appreciate the experiences that lead to happiness. This is part of being truly happy.Happiness is a state of mind. It starts with accepting where you are, knowing where you are going and planning to enjoy every moment along the way. You know how to be happy, and feel that you have enough time or money or love or whatever you need to achieve your goals. And just feeling that you have enough of everything means that you do indeed have enough. You have to choose to be happy, and focus upon being happy, in order to be happy. If you instead focus upon knowing that you will be happy if you achieve something, you will never be happy, as you have not learned to “smell the roses”. The irony is that when you are happy, you are inevitably more productive, and far more likely to achieve what everything-seekers are seeking.

After reading the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, I was deeply moved by the powerful themes and thought-provoking messages conveyed throughout the story. The novel explores the issues of racism, social injustice, and moral growth, and it left a lasting impact on me.One of the most compelling aspects of the book is its portrayal of racial prejudice in the American South during the 1930s. Through the character of Tom Robinson, a black man falsely accused of raping a white woman, the author sheds light on the pervasive racism and discrimination that existed in that era. The unfair trial and eventual conviction of Tom Robinson serve as a stark reminder of the systemic injustices faced by African Americans at the time. As I read about the racial tensions and the hardships endured by the black community, I was filled with a sense of outrage and empathy.Another significant theme in the novel is the moralgrowth and development of the protagonist, Scout Finch. Through her experiences and interactions with various characters, Scout learns valuable lessons about empathy, compassion, and standing up for what is right. Her father, Atticus Finch, serves as a role model for integrity and moral courage, as he defends Tom Robinson despite facing backlash and criticism from the prejudiced townspeople. The character of Atticus taught me the importance of staying true to one's principles and fighting for justice, even in the face of adversity. In addition to its exploration of social issues, "To Kill a Mockingbird" also delves into the complexities of human nature and the importance of empathy and understanding. The title of the book itself is symbolic, as it refers to the idea of harming innocent beings, such as mockingbirds, who only bring joy and beauty into the world. This metaphor resonated with me, as it made me reflect on the harm that is often inflicted on those who are vulnerable and powerless.Overall, "To Kill a Mockingbird" is a timeless andthought-provoking novel that continues to resonate with readers today. Its themes of racism, social injustice, and moral growth are as relevant now as they were when the book was first published. The characters and their struggles have left a deep impression on me, and I believe that the lessons and insights from this novel will stay with me for a long time.In conclusion, "To Kill a Mockingbird" is a literary masterpiece that has the power to inspire, provoke thought, and spark meaningful conversations about the human experience. It is a book that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a compelling and impactful read.。

After reading the novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, I was deeply moved by the powerful message it conveys about prejudice, justice, and the importance of empathy. The story is set in the 1930s in a small town in Alabama, and it follows the lives of the Finch family, particularly the young girl Scout and her brother Jem, as their father, Atticus Finch, defends a black man accused of raping a white woman. One of the most striking aspects of the novel is its exploration of the destructive nature of prejudice. Through the character of Atticus, the novel teaches us the importance of empathy and understanding, and the need to see things from others' perspectives. Atticus teaches his children to treat everyone with respect and to never judge someone based on their race or social status. This lesson is particularly important in today's world, where prejudice and discrimination still exist in many forms. The novel also delves into the theme of justice, and the idea that it is not always served in the way we expect. Despite overwhelming evidence of the accused man's innocence, the jury convicts him simply because of his race. This serves as a powerful reminder of the injustices that have plagued society for centuries, and the need to continue fighting for equality and fairness. The character of Boo Radley, a recluse who is feared and misunderstood by the townspeople, also serves as a poignant reminder of the dangers of prejudice and the importance of looking beyond appearances. Through Scout and Jem's interactions with Boo, the novel shows that true understanding and compassion can break down barriers and bring people together.Overall, "To Kill a Mockingbird" is a timeless and powerful novel that continues to resonate with readers today. Its themes of prejudice, justice, and empathy are as relevant now as they were when the novel was first published, and its message of hope and understanding is one that we can all learn from. I believe that everyone should read this novel, as it has the power to open our eyes to the injustices in the world and inspire us to work towards a more just and compassionate society.。

Seventeen summers ago, Muriel and I began our journey into the twilight. It's midnight now, at least for her, and sometimes I wonder when dawn will break. Even the dreaded Alzheimer's disease isn't supposed to attack so early and torment so long. Yet, in her silent world, Muriel is so content, so lovable. If she were to die, how I would miss her gentle, sweet presence. Yes, there are times when I get irritated, but not often. It doesn't make sense to get angry. And besides, perhaps God has been answering the prayer of my youth to mellow my spirit.Once, though, I completely lost it. In the days when Muriel could still stand and walk and we had not resorted to diapers, sometimes there were "accidents." I was on my knees beside her, trying to clean up the mess as she stood, confused, by the toilet. It would have been easier if she weren't so insistent on helping. I got more and more frustrated. Suddenly, to make her stand still, I slapped her calf-as if that would do any good. It wasn't a hard slap, but she was startled. I was, too.Never in our forty-four years of marriage had I ever so much as touched her in anger or in rebuke of any kind.Never. I wasn't even tempted, in fact. But now, when she needed me most. . . .Sobbing, I pleaded with her to forgive me-no matter that she didn't understand words any better than she could speak them. So I prayed and said how sorry I was. It took me days to get over it. Maybe I bottled those tears to quench the fires that might ignite again some day.A young friend recently asked me, "Don't you ever get tired?""Tired? Every night. That's why I go to bed.""No, I mean tired of . . ." and she tilted her head toward Muriel, who sat silently in her wheelchair, her vacant eyes saying, "No one at home just now." I responded to my friend, "Why, no, I don't get tired. I love to care for her. She's my precious."Love is said to evaporate if the relationship is not mutual, if it's not physical, if the other person doesn't communicate or if one party doesn't carry his or her share of the load. When I hear the litany of essentials for a happy marriage, I count off what my beloved can no longer contribute, and then I contemplate how truly mysterious love is.What some people find so hard to understand is that loving Muriel isn't hard. They wonder about my formerloves-like my work. "Do you miss being president?" a university student asked as we sat in our little garden. I told him I'd never thought about it, but, on reflection, no. As exhilarating as my work had been, I enjoyed learning to cook and keep house. No, I'd never looked back. But that night I did reflect on his question and prayed, "I like this assignment, and Ihave no regrets. But if a coach puts a man on the bench, he must not want him in the game. You needn't tell me, of course, but I'd like to know-why didn't you keep me in the game?"I didn't sleep well that night and awoke contemplating the puzzle. Muriel was still mobile at that time, so we set out on our morning walk around the block. She wasn't too sure on her feet, so we went slowly and held hands as we always do. This day I heard footsteps behind me and looked back to see the familiar form of a local derelict behind us. He staggered past us, then turned and looked us up and down. "Tha's good. I likes 'at," he said. "That's realgood. I likes it." He turned and headed back down the street, mumbling to himself over and over,"Tha's good. I likes it."When Muriel and I reached our little garden and sat down, his words came back to me. God had spoken through an inebriated old derelict. "It is you who is whispering to my spirit, 'I likes it, tha's good,'" I said aloud. "I may be on the bench, but if you like it and say it's good, that's all that counts."People ask me, "How do you do it?" Praise helps-Muriel is a joy to me, and life is good to both of us, indifferent ways. And we have family and friends who care for us lovingly.Memories help, too. Muriel stocked the cupboard of my mind with the best of them. I often live again a special moment of love she planned or laugh at some remembered outburst of her irrepressible approach to life. Sometimes the happy doesn't bubble up with joy but rains down gently with tears. In the movie Shadowlands, when Joy Gresham reminds C. S. Lewis that their joy would soon end, that she would die, he replies that he doesn't want to think aboutit. Joy responds, "The pain is part of the happiness. That's the deal."Muriel hasn't spoken a coherent word in months-years, if you mean a sentence, a conversation-though occasionally she tries, mumbling nonwords. Would I never hear that voice again? Then came February 14, 1995.Valentine's Day was always special at our house because that was the day in 1948 that Muriel accepted my marriage proposal. On the eve of Valentine's Day in 1995, I bathed Muriel, kissed her good night and whispered a prayer over her, "Dear Lord, you love sweet Muriel more than I, so please keep my beloved through the night; may she hear the angel choirs."The next morning I was peddling on my exercise bike at the foot of her bed and reminiscing about some of our happy lovers' days long gone while Muriel slowly emerged from sleep. Finally, she popped awake and, as she often does, smiled at me. Then, for the first time in months she spoke, calling out to me in a voice as clear as a crystal chime, "Love . . . love . . . love."I jumped from my cycle and ran to embrace her. "Honey, you really do love me, don't you?" Holding me with her eyes and patting my back, she responded with the only words she could find to say yes. "I'm nice," she said.Tha's good. I likes it.。
