2021届全国卷英语二轮复习题型混合练(1)一、Dr.Nancy Roman, born in 1925, who was celebrated as a pioneer for female scientists and had advanced the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope, died on Dec 25, 2018.When Nancy Roman asked for permission to take a second algebra course in high school, a teacher demanded to know “what lady would take mathematics instead of Latin”. In college, a professor admitted that he often tried to prevent women from majoring in physics but Nancy stuck to it. And after receiving Doctor’ s degr ee in astronomy, she found a professional home at NASA . In 1959, Dr. Roman became the first chief of astronomy at NASA headquarters, a role that made her one of the agency’s first female leaders.Dr Roman spent much of her career helping develop, fund and promote technology that would help scientists see more clearly beyond Earth's atmosphere. But her most well-known work was perhaps leading to design the Hubble Space Telescope the first major telescope to be sent into space for the purpose of gathering photographs and data from the universe. She was, therefore, named as "the mother of Hubble”.“She made it possible to get the early telescope up into space to learn what needed to be learned,” said science historian Bob Zimmerman: and her hard-nosed nature helped get the telescope built. The telescope did not launch until 1990, a little more than a decade after Dr Roman retired, but when it did, its photographs of the universe thrilled the world. I am glad, "she once told Science, "I ignored the people who to ld me that I could not be an astronomer.”1.What can we conclude from the teacher’s reaction to Nancy Roman’s application for taking a second algebra course?A.The teacher was strongly against it.B.The teacher didn’t care about it.C.The teacher accepted it at once.D.The teacher doubted it.2.What was the most famous achievement of Nancy Roman’s work?A.She was one of the founders of NASA.B.She led to design the Hubble Space Telescope.C.She was the first female astronomer in the world.D.She proved the black hole really existed.3.When did Dr. Nancy Roman probably retire?A.In 1979.B.In 1969C.In 1990.D.In 2000.4.What can we learn from Dr. Nancy Roman’s words in the last paragraph?A.She was very proud of what she had done for the country.B.She thought highly of the people who hadn't believed her.C.She was delighted to have become an astronomer in spite of the prejudice on her.D.She had hard-nosed nature and never cared about other people’s opinions.二、Art galleries are places in which artists can display all types of works of art, including paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, etc. ①_________ At the same time, however, each artwork must be protected from exposure to too much light since that can cause works to fade and therefore get ruined. ②_________The most common form of lighting used to light up artwork is indoor spotlights on tracks attached to the ceiling near where the work is being displayed. ③_________ It permits the lights to be moved more easily when the light patterns require adjusting. Recessed(嵌入的) lights in walls and ceilings can be useful so long as they are not fixed in place but can instead be easily moved to create ideal light patterns. Most art gallery directors state that a combination of tracked and recessed light equipment is ideal because the tracked lights focus directly on the artwork while the recessed lights are used on the nearby walls to provide a surrounding light source. ④_________How to angle the lights depends upon the height of the ceiling and the size of the artwork. Caution must be taken to avoid creating too many areas with shadows or to have the lights cause a glare on the artwork. Besides, the lights should not be bare bulbs burning directly on the artwork but should be made in some way to make the lighting softer. According to experts, low voltage(电压) bulbs are the best to use when lighting artwork. ⑤_________ Thus artwork should be placed in a room where sunlight can't directly hit it.A. It can make the displays attractive.B. Using tracked lighting is beneficial.C. Light plays a key role in art galleries.D. This light source can better improve the mood surrounding the work.E. To better improve their appearance, the display area needs to be well lit.F. Finding a happy medium between not enough light and too much of it requires considerable skill and experience.G. Above all, natural light should be avoided since direct sunlight will damage artwork, particularly paintings, over time.三、阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。

I was a total outsider, bullied at school. I felt completely alone in my small town. But by starting to do volunteer work when I was 14, I turned my problem into helping others. The opportunity to practice kindness made me feel like my life had a greater purpose. The more positive energy I shared, the more kindness and appreciation I received. I jumped out of bed in a little bit of panic. I woke up my 8-year-old daughter Avy, who was not exactly in a hurry to get out of bed. “We’re late for school,” I half-yelled at her. I finally got her into the shower, dressed her hurriedly and made it to the nearby bus stop in time. Thankfully, the school was only two stops away. We got in, rubbing our eyes as the sunlight streamed into the bus.Her mom had flown to Hong Kong several days earlier on assignment for a newspaper to cover the handover of the city’s return to China.I had taken off from work for a week to help look after our daughter. I would pick up my daughter from school around midday. At the end of the day, I would watch the news on TV, which would lead the entire week with the historic events happening in Hong Kong. I would wonder where my wife was in the crowd that was gathered to witness the handover. The year, 1997, was tense because the Asian financial crisis began. The Thai baht was hit, followed by the South Korean won and, like a contagious virus which spreads rapidly, the financial system seized up. For that week though, that was the least of my worries. I just made sure we did not have a repeat of July 1, when we were nearly late for school. My wife was very busy during the handover, chasing down stories in Hong Kong as the British flag was lowered for the last time.I later spent a few years working in Hong Kong, but my enduring memory of the days surrounding its return to China was the time I spent as a babysitter, although it is kind of hard to call an 8-year-old a baby. The whole thing was a lifetime ago. But it is a good memory.4. What was the author’s day like on July 1, 1997?A. He and his daughter woke up in panic.B. He barely got his daughter on time.C. It was his first babysitting day.D. His daughter went to school energetically.5. Why did the author ask for a leave?A. He wanted to witness the historic events.B. He needed to take care of his daughter.C. He drove his daughter to school and pick up her back around midday.D. He accompanied his daughter to find her mother on TV in the evening.6. Which of the following caused the nervousness in 1997?A. The events happening in Hong Kong.B. The crowd gathered to see the handover.C. The spread of the Asian financial crisis.D. The 8-year-old daughter I was babysitting.7. What is the passage mainly about?A. The historic events in 1997.B. Life of a journalist’s husband.C. A working dad’s way of babysitting children.D. Bitter sweet memory with daughter alone.【七选五】(2022·江淮十校二模)根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。

Bet you’re not as bad as me.Like most during lockdown, I missed being in familiar green city spaces. A quick snap on my phone never quite captured the moment. So I was excited to find “green sketching” sessions near my home. This seemed a perfect Covid-safe activity, even for the untalented. Our group was all women, with some having had previous artistic training. We were given art supplies and then set drawing exercises to help us get creative. This type of art, “green sketching”, was inspired by environmental scientist Dr Ali Foxon. Ali thought that spreading the joy of sketching could be the key to making people care about nature instead of just wordy reports. She launched her movement, Boggy Doodles, in 2016.The day we were there the forest was glorious—all gold, yellow and brown. We spent the last hour trying to capture a forest scene. Hoping not to embarrass myself too much, I made a real effort to catch the dark and brighter areas of the trunks, their textures. I used an eraser to create the white shape of a silver tree in the distance. Mine looked more like a winter scene—I hadn’t managed to capture the autumn leaves or the branches. But when the five of us brought our work together at the end, I wasn’t too ashamed: mine was only just the worst.I had loved this chance for a real and physical creative experience—I can’t be the only one to feel sad at the prospect of a new lockdown. Sketching calms a busy, anxious mind and trains the brain to notice “little things” that spark joy and help strengthen us against life’s challenges. While engaging with nature may well make us keener on protecting it—in Robert Mac far lane’s words, “We will not save what we do not love and we rarely love what we cannot name or do not see” —the benefits of sketching work the other way round.1.Why did the author take part in the “green sketching”activity?A. Her friends advised her to do so.B. She needed something to kill time.C. She was eager to return to green spaces.D.She wanted to improve her painting skills.2.What can we learn about the “green sketching”activity?A. It was launched by Dr Ali Foxon.B. It was well-received after being held in2016.C. It required the participants to write a report afterwards.D. It was aimed at raising public awareness of environmental protection.3.How did the author feel about her “green sketching”experience?A. She was ashamed that she didn’t take it seriously.B. She felt embarrassed that her work was the worst.C. She was fascinated by the winter scene in the forest.D. She enjoyed herself even though she was poor at painting.4.What does the author want to convey with Robert’s words?A. Sketching can strengthen one’s creativity.B. Doing things we love brings us happinessC. The first step to protecting nature is to engage with it.D. It often takes a calm mind to overcome challenges in life.【阅读理解D篇】D(2022·皖八一模)While it may sound like something that has crawled out of your nightmares, cyborg cockroaches have arrived as friends rather than enemies. Researchers from Japan’s RIKEN Cluster for Pioneering Research have designed a new remote-controlled insect, equipped with a battery “backpack” that is powered by solar panels. The cyborg cockroach, which is part insect and part machine, is intended to enter dangerous areas, monitor the environment or undertake search and rescue missions without needing to be recharged.Famously able to survive a nuclear war, cockroaches have been the inspiration for a number of technologies in recent years. The cockroaches are still alive, but wires attached to their two “cerci” — sensory organs on the end of their stomachs—send electrical impulses that cause the insect to move right or left. A battery is necessary for the sending and receiving of these electrical signals, which needs to be charged up.While it’s possible to build docking stations for recharging the battery, the need to return and recharge could disrupt time-sensitive missions. The RIKEN team wanted to create a more practical version when it ran out of power. Therefore, they designed an on-board solar cell that could continuously ensure that the cockroach stays charged while it works. However, cockroaches have a limited surface area available for all the components necessary to move its legs and keep it powered. The solution, published in npj Flexible Electronics, was to design a special “backpack” that could neatly carry both the wireless leg-control module and rechargeable lithium polymer battery. This was attached to the top of the insect on its chest, and was 3D printed to fit perfectly to the curved surface of the Madagascar cockroach. It allowed for this electronic device to be stably mounted on the insect for over a month, while leaving space elsewhere on the body to implant thesolar panel.5. What do we know about cyborg cockroaches?A. They are new-invented and helpful devices.B. They are a new kind of insect.C. They are in fact very unfriendly.D. They are powered by a backpack.6. How does the cockroaches follow instructions to move?A. They can be kept alive with inspiration.B. They are equipped with sensors.C. They do missions near docking stations.D. They carry an on-board solar cell.7. What function is expected of the RIKEN team’s solution?A. To apply 3D printing to the design perfectly.B. To enlarge the surface available for equipment.C. To fasten the cell and module neatly on cockroaches.D. To ensure the cockroaches return and recharge efficiently.8. Which is the most suitable title for the text?A. Cyborg Cockroaches—No More NightmaresB. Battery “Backpack"—3D Printing in UseC. Battery “Backpack"—Design for Hard MissionsD. We were hot, sticky, and mad that the fish refused to try our night crawlers.Being only seven years old, I observed that perhaps the worms were the problem. Maybe the night crawlers only moved at night, and now they were just lying still there. Dad ignored my guessing. We began to pack up to leave. As we headed back to our truck, we heard tires roaring in the distance. Getting into our truck was tough. Having sat in the boiling sun for six hours, I found the seats were burning.I shifted from side to side in the seat so as not to cook my bottom. While driving out we sawa truck stuck in the mud. Forests that absorb carbon dioxide are cut down for raising animals while fertilisers used for growing their feed are rich in nitrogen, which can contribute to air and water pollution, climate change and ozone depletion. Livestock also produces large quantities of methane, a powerful greenhouse gas.A Dutch city will become the first in the world to ban meat advertisements from public spaces in an effort to reduce consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.Haarlem, which lies to the west of Amsterdam and has a population of about 160,000, will pass the prohibition from 2024 after meat was added to a list of products thought to contribute to the climate crisis. Ads will not be allowed on Haarlem’s buses, shelters and screens in public spaces, prompting the complaint from the meat sector that local authority is “going too far in telling people what’s best for them”.Ziggy Klazes, who drafted the proposal banning meat advertising, said she had not known the city would be the world’s first to enforce such a policy when she proposed it. She told a radio channel: “We do not prohibit what people are baking and roasting in their own kitchen; if people wanted to continue eating meat, fine... We can’t tell people there’s a climate crisis and encourage them to buy products that are part of the cause.”The ban also covers holiday flights, fossil fuels and cars that run on fossil fuels. The ban is delayed until 2024 due to existing contracts with companies that sell the products. Research suggests that to meet the EU target of net zero emissions by 2050, meat consumption must be reduced to 24kg per person per year, compared with the current average of 82kg.4. Why does Haarlem intend to ban meat advertisements?A. To take the lead in cutting emission.B. To switch food to plant-based food.C. To stop advocating eating meat publicly.D. To contribute to the climate crisis.5. What does the phrase underlined in paragraph 3 probably mean?A. The government have taken too much control of people.B. The local authority is wrong about the best meat.C. Meat sector complains for harming their interests.D. Climate crisis has gone too far to be left untreated.6. What is Ziggy Klazes’s attitude to eating meat?A. Uncaring.B. Opposing.C. Guilty.D. Understanding.7. What can be inferred about the ban?A. It won’t benefits the EU market.B. 高考题型·组合规范练18选修7 Unit19阅读理解题组——练速度(35mins)Ⅰ.阅读理解AChinaTea originated in Ancient China and has been a big part of Chinese culture since. It is said that China introduced tea to the rest of the world! The country has a diverse landscape that produces hundreds of different types of tea:green, oolong, black, white, and yellow tea.Tea ceremonies are an essential part of Chinese weddings when the bride and groom kneel before their parents to serve them tea.RussiaTea is also a considerable part of Russian hospitality.Russians like to brew a robust loose leaf black tea, which can then be diluted(稀释) to the drinker’s taste with boiling water. You candrink the tea black or with the additions of sugar, milk,or lemon.Just make sure you have a tasty treat, like a pastry(油酥糕点),on the side.Drinking “naked” tea is considered a major faux pas(失礼).JapanThe Japanese are keen green tea drinkers. It’s often served at restaurants in place of water!Their tea of choice is usually matcha,a type of green tea with a bright color that has been dried and ground down into a fine powder. In Japan, you can find tea houses where intricate(错综复杂的) tea ceremonies, often involving matcha, are performed.MoroccoMint lovers will love Moroccan tea the most.Touareg is the name for Morocco’s signature hot mint tea(薄荷茶).Though it can be enjoyed casually,Touareg is traditionally linked to hospitality and friendship. It is traditionally served in small glasses rather than teacups. It must be poured from a height of at least twelveinches so that foam is created on the surface. If there is no foam, the tea is considered undrinkable!1.What do Russians think of drinking “naked” tea?A.Impoliteness.B.Politeness.B.Generosity. D.Enthusiasm.2.Why must tea be poured from a height in Morocco?A.To make it much cooler.B.To add more flavour to it.C.To make it suitable to drink.D.To make foam on the surface.3.Which of the countries produces the most varieties of tea?A.China.B.Russia.C.Japan.D.Morocco.BIf you stop a random person on the street in China, there’s a pretty good chance that their surname would be eitherWang,Li,Zhang,Liu or Chen. That’s because those are the five most common surnames in China—shared by 30% of the population. And the vast majority of the population share just 100 of those surnames. In comparison, the United States reported 6.3 million surnames in its census. There are a few reasons for this:China is less racially diverse than countries such as the US,where a wealth of minority groups increase surname diversity (多样性).It also has to do with language;you can’t just add a random stroke (笔画) to a Chinese character and create a new surname. But there’s also another factor at play:technology. With China roaring into the digital age, nearly everything has moved online—from making appointments to buying train tickets. The main problem is that not all Chinese characters have been coded into computer systems. That meant a world of trouble if you happened to have a rare character in your name.As of ,up to 60 million Chinese citizens faced this problem, according to Xinhua.People with rare characters in their names, which aren’t compatible(兼容的) with eputer systems, can get left behind—pushing many to change their names for the sake of convenience, even if it means abandoning centuries of heritage and languages. To try to address this, experts have increased the database from 32,000 characters to 70,000 characters, according to the government. They’re still working to eore than 90,000 characters, said Chen Jiawei,an associate professor at Beijing Normal University.4.What can be learned from the comparison according to Paragraph 1?A.There are fewer common surnames in China.B.Chinese people like sharing the same surname.C.The United States owns the most surnames in the world.D.6.3 million surnames in China have been shared until now.5.Which one describes surname diversity properly?A.New Chinese surnames are easy to create.B.Surname diversity totally depends on technology.C.Minority groups can increase surname diversity.D.Surnames in computer systems are regularly changed.6.What may happen to people with rare characters in their names?A.They will lose their heritage.B.They have to change their names.C.They should eay upgrade computer systems.7.Why have experts increased the character database?A.To save the heritage and languages.B.To keep traditional Chinese culture.C.To give people more choices when naming.D.To let us know more Chinese characters.CThe government of Singapore has created a highly developed system that turns wastewater into drinking water. The system involves a network of tunnels and high-technology treatment centers. The system helps reduce ocean pollution,as only a small amount of the treated water is sent into the sea.The United Nations estimates that 80 percent of the world’s wastewater flows back into the oceans without being treated or reused.Singapore has few natural water sources. The island nation has long had to depend mostly on supplies from neighboring Malaysia.Low P ei Chin,an expert, told reporters,“Singapore lacks natural resources, and it is limited in space, which is why we are always looking for ways to explore water sources and stretch our water supply. One major plan is to collect every drop and reuse endlessly.”Parts of the water treatment center are underground.Wastewater enters the center through a 48-kilometer tunnel that is linked to sewers. The center contains a large system of steelpipes, tubes, tanks, cleaning systems and other machinery. It can treat up to 900 million liters of wastewater a day.In one building,a network of air flow systems has been put in place to keep the air smelling as fresh as possible.Waste thatarrives at the plant goes through a cleaning process before powerful pumps send it flowing to areas above ground for more treatment. There, the treated water receives additional cleaning.Bacteria and viruses are removed through highly developed cleaning processes and then disinfected with ultraviolet(紫外线) radiation.Singapore is also in the process of e.The country will add another underground tunnel and a major water treatment center to serve the western half of the island.Officials epleted by .By the time the expansion is finished,Singapore will have spent about $7.4 billion on its water treatment systems.8.What can we infer from the second paragraph?A.The world’s oceans are polluted by wastewater.B.Wastewater is usually treated before sent into the oceans.C.Only a small amount of the treated water is suitable to drink.D.80 percent of the water in the oceans can be used as drinking water.9.Why are the So what can be done to lift our spirits? The shorter days and longer nights can make us feel down, which can cause us to eat more and exercise less. Some fear loneliness and isolation Those people who suffer this seasonal mood swing more seriously are described as/ having seasonal affective disorder—or SAD for short. It's a type of depression with a seasonal pattern caused by a shortage of light and is thought to affect the part of the brain that rules sleep. appetite, mood and activity levels.Jenny Scott-Thompson, diagnosed with SAD struggled with periods of tiredness and unhappiness. The Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilisation Experiment, better known as Moxie, has been generating oxygen from the atmosphere ـﺘﻘﺜﺮﻳch-in carbon dioxide, as part of NASA's Perseverance rover mission, which began in February last year.Research published in the journal-Science-Advances reported that Moxie produced breathable oxygen in seven hour-long tests conducted in various weather and atmospheric conditions since landing last year. The research found that during each test_and even in extreme temperatures or after a Martian dust storm, Moxie continued to produce high-purity oxygen. The device uses pumps that suck in carbon dioxide. The gas is heated to 800℃ and separates the carbon and oxygen. Carbon monoxide is emitted as waste while the pure oxygen is left behind.“This is the first demonstration of actually using resources on the surface of Mars andtr ansforming them chemically into something that would be useful for a human mission,”Jeffrey Hoffman said. Hoffman,a retired astronaut and a professor at MIT aeronautics department, also noted that the results were“groundbreaking and historic.”NASA and the MIT team are planning to build a bigger version of Moxie. They hope advanced models will produce enough oxygen to support a crewed mission to Mars and generate the gas needed to send a rocket back to Earth.“To support a human mission to Mars we have to br ing a lot of stuff from Earth.”Hoffman said.“But dumb old oxygen? If you can make it there, go for it. You're way ahead of the game.”The thin atmosphere on Mars is 96 percent carbon dioxide and much more mutable thanon Earth. Hoffman said, “One objective now is to show we can run Moxie in all seasons.”5. What can we learn about Moxie in this passage?A. It fails in the seven-hour long test.B. As Americans moved across the country, they said English would become standardized, meaning that it would be spoken the same way everywhere. But sociolinguist William Labov of the Universityof Pennsylvania says, while some accents in America are disappearing, others are growing stronger. One of these regional accents is Native American English, known a s the “rez accent”. It is spoken in many Indigenous communities in the United States and Canada. The word “rez” is shortened from the word “reservation”. Reservations are areas of land in the United States and Canada that are kept separate for Native Americans or Indigenous people to live in.Kalina Newmark is from the Sahtu Region in Canada’s Northwest Territories. Her ancestors were called the Dene people, but she does not speak her tribe’s language of Slavey. “My mom can understand and speak it, but she didn’t pass it on to us. She learned it from her great-grandmother. My grandmother chose not to pass along the language because she wanted to make it easier for her children when they went to school,” Newmark said. Newmark went to Dartmouth College in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. The school is known for its Indigenous student population. There, she met other Indigenous students from all over North America. Newmark noticed something very interesting about everyone’s pronunciation. The English they spoke shared some similar qualities, although they came from different language backgrounds. These especially could be heard during times of socializing. The accent was even present for students who had not learned their ancestral language. Indigenous communities speak different English dialects, but these ways of speaking shared prosody patterns. The rez accent possibly came from different Native tribes interacting in the 1880s when Indigenous peoples were placed on reservations. The Native American and First Nations children were forced into school and had to speak English. The rez accent also might have had its beginning in the 1950s and 1960s when the US government closed some reservations and sent Native American into cities. The children were forced to speak English and interact with each other. “They were all learning English together,” said Newmark, “and making an English of theirown.”1. What can we infer from Kalina Newmark’s experience?A. She learnt her tribe’s language from her mother.B. Her ancestors spoke English with rez accent.C. Native American students account for a considerable percentage in her school.D. Indigenous students speak English in exactly the same way in the school.2. Which statement is TRUE about the “rez accent”?A. It is a shared pattern of speaking English among the Indigenous population.B. It originated from the Native Americans’ ancestral languages.C. Us government is worried about the tendency of speaking English with rez accent.D. The reason for the continuing growth of rez accent has been confirmed.3. How does the author introduce the topic of the text?A. By making a comparison.B. By analyzing a reason.C. By giving an example.D. By having an argument.4. What is the main idea of the text?A. Accents of American English are disappearing.B. Native Americans speak English with a similar accent.C. Indigenous people obtain rez accent from their ancestors.D. The majority of Americans don’t speak standardized English.【阅读理解D篇】D(2022·江淮十校二模)Frederik Duerinck isn’t a jeweller, but his next project is a necklace. This piece, though, doesn’t feature a precious stone as a decoration, but rather a small box. Inside the cube is a battery and scenting system designed to deliver a puff of fragrance on demand that Duerinck describes as a “scent bubble”. Duerinck acknowledges that its current size and battery life are barriers, as is the quality of the scent and the projection. But he remains optimistic. The next step, he hopes, is to improve it enough to win over investors and secure funding for further development on a wearable version.Duerinck, of course, isn’t the first to try to deliver scents on demand to people’s noses in an attempt to create a more immersive sensory experience. In the movie era, attempts to add scent began as early as 1916. Then came Smellovision, unveiled in 1939, it was equal to a series of pipes attached to viewers’ chairs through which a projectionist could deliver smell and show the images at the same time. Smellovision itself, was a failure, largely because the scent technology worked so poorly—the scents were too diffuse to give a satisfactory experience.Clearing a particular scent in time for the next to move freely was also troublesome. A rival system, known as Aromarama, displayed similar shortcomings. The filmmaker John Waters tried scratch and sniff cards in the early 1980s, but no other filmmaker copied his trick.Even now, though, as the world of entertainment has become more high-tech, and immersive with virtual reality headsets, scent remains the one element that is difficult to find and hard to copy. Perhaps the most fundamental problem is that we don’t yet fully understand how our sense of smell functions.5. What’s the function of paragraph 1?A. To tell us the story of Frederik Duerinck.B. To promote a new product.C. To introduce the topic.D. To share the story of a “scent bubble”.6. What is the disadvantage of the special necklace?A. Its short battery life.B. Its particular scent.C. Its demanding environment.D. Its high price.7. What can be inferred from this text?A. Duerinck’s project is in need of financial support.B. In 1916, viewers’ chairs could deliver smell.C. Many filmmakers copied John’s trick.D. Aromarama worked better than Smellovision.8. What is the biggest challenge while making films with scent?A. The scent technology doesn’t offer a satisfying experience.B. Researchers don’t know how our sense of smell works.C. Clearing scent in time is still a puzzle.D. The operation is too complex.【完形填空】(2022·湖北重点中学联考)阅读下面短文,从所给的A、B、C、D 四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。

(2021·山东泰安二模)It was going to be my first day at Rainbow Middle School. Everyone else was coming back from winter holiday, but I was going to be new in this school. After getting out of my mother’s car, I looked around and noticed that kids were gathering around in the hallways with their friends, whispering and giggling. Not knowing anyone and having nowhere to go, I decided to just wait outside until the bell rang.I was standing outside Mrs Everett’s classroom reading a novel named Oliver Twist, when I glanced back to find someone looking over my shoulder.“Are you new here? Anyway, I absolutely love the novel! It’s one of my favourite novels. By the way, I’m Macy!” the girl said.I was about to answer when the bell cut me off. Shyly, I entered the classroom to find Mrs Everett smiling and she led me to a seat. Once everyone came in and sat down, Mrs Everett called me up to the front and introduced me to the class. As I scanned their faces, I noticed that they looked bored and didn’t seem to care about me. I returned to my seat and listened to the teacher for the rest of the class. The lunch bell rang and I got out of the classroom, checking my backpack for my lunch. Scanning the lunch tables, I was nervously wondering where I should sit when I saw Macy approaching me.“Hey, if you want, you can come and sit with us.” Macy offered as she pointed to a pink table near the classrooms. Feeling happy, I glanced over where she was pointing and followed her over. Suddenly, my shoelace untied at that moment. Then I knocked into Macy and dropped my lunchbox. I said sorry and picked up my lunchbox. With my head low, I was afraid the other girls at the table would laugh at me.To my surprise, they started comforting me.After school, I waited for my mother to pick me up at the school gate.组合练(一)Ⅰ.Learning A New SkillThis summer, I decided to learn photography, and it turned out to be an amazing experience.Having researched different cameras and techniques, I enrolled in an online course to learn the basics of composition and lighting. 组合练四(限时练40分钟)Ⅰ.阅读理解Facebook and RayBan have released their first pair of camera smart glasses, RayBan Stories. Facebook hopes they'll be worn to take pictures and short videos, listen to music, and make phone calls, by anyone 13 or older. The glasses, which Facebook had made fun of in the past, start at $299 and come in three styles, and are available to buyers in six countries, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.Hind Hobeika, a product manager for augmentedreality devices at Facebook Reality Labs, told me RayBan Stories are “the first smart glasses that people will want to wear”.Facebook lent me a pair of RayBan Stories with sunglass lenses (镜片) so I could decide for myself. RayBan Stories rely on a companion smartphone app called Facebook View to let you see, edit and share images and videos. It was easy to send pictures to friends via the app.As far as I could tell, nobody noticed anything unusual about the glasses while chasing my kids around a busy playground, even when I was taking numerous short videos. It would have been easy to use these glasses to invade other people's privacy.I spoke with Jeremy Greenberg, policy counsel at the Future of Privacy Forums, about my experience. He said there's “definitely some concerns” that people didn't appear to notice that I was capturing pictures and videos—something that would be more obvious if I had pulled out my phone.“It'll be interesting to see, if this technology becomes widespread, will folks sort of develop that cultural understanding that their images might be taken or videos might be taken?” he asked. “It's real that time will tell.”And after days of trying them out, I still didn't have the sense that I (or anyone, really) need RayBan Stories. You may need eyeglasses or sunglasses, and a smartphone, too. But it's going to be tough for Facebook to convince most people that they haveto have a device that can repeat a few of their phone's features sitting on their face—even one that looks this good.1.What can we learn about RatBan Stories?A.They are intended for adults. B.Each pair is no more than $299.C.Hind Hobeika has confidence in them. D.They are being sold all over the world.2.What can we use Facebook View to do?A.Revise photos. B.Produce videos.C.Listen to music. D.Make phone calls.3.What was Jeremy Greenberg curious to know?A.Whether people will buy RayBan Stories.B.Whether people like to have their photos taken.C.Whether RayBan Stories will replace mobile phones.D.Whether RayBan Stories will develop well.4.What is the author's final conclusion about RayBan Stories?A.They are practical. B.They are unnecessary.C.They will cause trouble. Only you can change your life by changing the choices you make. Take responsibility for everything in your life. Even if it's not in your direct control, you can always choose how you respond.__3__ If you choose what is fun and easy over what is necessary, you will never reach the levels of success and happiness you are capable of achieving in your life. That's because every great victory requires great sacrifice. If success was easy, everybody would be successful. There is nothing that you can't achieve with hard work.
