Memo, short for memorandum, is a simple and efficient message that is used to remind of or draw someone’s attention to certain matters. It usually omits the letterhead, salutation, complimentary close (信尾客套话) and signature block (署名区 ) that are commonly used in business letters. It is efficient because its format conveys the writer’s ideas quickly and directly to the readers. A memo may communicate information, announce polices, instruct employees, make request or offer advice.
