The Pros and Cons of Test-oriented Education
The test-oriented education system has come into being for many years. Some people are for it, some are fully against it.
Disadvantages
•Constraining creativity
In China, test-oriented education makes students information recipients who learn in a passive way. Students pay much attention to the textbooks and seldom do they question the content of the textbooks. By and by, they lose the ability to think critically and creatively.
Disadvantages
•Lacking practical training and ignoring personality
This kind of education highlights theoretical things rather than practical training, which, as far as I’m concerned, is much more essential. As a result, students tend to get high marks in exams while fail in practice. Besides , too much attention on grades makes students ignore the cultivation of the mind.
