If I were a Boy Again

If I were a boy again, I would practice perseverance坚持不懈 more often, and never give up a thing because it was hard or inconvenient不便. If we want light, we must conquer darkness. Perseverance can sometimes equal genius天赋 in its results. “There are only two creatures,” says a proverb, “Who can surmount 攻克 the pyramids — the eagle and the snail.”

If I were a boy again, I would school训练 myself into a habit of attention; I would let nothing come between me and the subject in hand. I would remember that a good skater never tries to skate in two directions at once.

The habit of attention becomes part of our life, if we begin early enough. I often hear grown-up people say, “I could not fix my attention on the sermon布道or book, although I wished to do so”, and the reason is, the habit was not formed in youth.

If I were to live my life over again, I would pay more attention to the

cultivation培养 of the memory. I would strengthen that faculty才能 by every possible means, and on every

possible occasion. It takes a little hard work at first to remember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very little trouble. It only needs early cultivation to become a power.

If I were a boy again, I would cultivate courage. “Nothing is so mild and gentle as courage, nothing so cruel and pitiless as cowardice,” says a wise author.

We too often borrow trouble自找麻烦, and anticipate期望 that may never appear.” The fear of ill exceeds the ill we fear.” Dangers will arise出现 in any career, but presence of mind沉着镇定 will often conquer the worst of them. Be prepared for any fate, and there is no harm to be feared.

If I were a boy again, I would look on the cheerful side. Life is very much like a mirror: if you smile upon it, it smiles back upon you; but if you frown and look doubtful on it, you will get a similar look in return.

Inner sunshine warms not only the heart of the owner, but of all that come in contact with it. “Who shuts love out, in turn shall be shut out from love.”

If I were a boy again, I would school myself to say “No” more often. I might write pages on the importance

of learning very early in life to gain that point where a young boy can stand erect站直, and decline doing an unworthy act because it is unworthy.

If I were a boy again, I would demand of myself more courtesy towards my companions and friends, and indeed towards strangers as well. The smallest courtesies along the rough roads of life are like the little birds that sing to us all winter long, and make that season of ice and snow more endurable.

Finally, instead of trying hard to be happy, as if that were the sole purpose of life, I would, if I were a boy again, I would still try harder to make others happy.

Growing Pains

ladies and gentlemen, teachers, my fellow students: My name is Bian Qing. I am very excited and feel it's a great honor to stand here to deliver my speech. what i'm going to talk about is“growing pains”.

When I was young, birthday was the best time for me. I was looking forward to my birthday party every day. But now, I suddenly find that I am not as happy as before when my birthday is coming .

How time flies, I am a middle school student now. It’s impossible for me to live such a happy life without

any pains. In school, I have to worry about my grades and there’s always so much homework given by teachers. What’s worse, there are so many arguments between parents and me. After school, I have to help my parents to do some housework at home. As you can see, that isn’t an easy thing for me. Sometimes, I ‘m stressed out and I even don’t want to grow up to face all of the things.

But, growing up isn’t a bad thing actually. It is a natural part of our life, and everyone needs to experience it. In the other way, all of the experiences will be the best memories in our life, even growing pains. Gains give me power and confidence. Successes and friendship make me happy and enjoyable. And ourselves must be improved by trying and working hard. So, never be afraid of any growing pains. Just remember and believe ”I will be the best! I’m the best!” Then, nothing can stop your footstep of growing up. Believe in

yourself, that will make every thing easy; Try your best, that will make every thing successful!

Although pains are always more than gains. But both

of them make my life more colorful!

That’s all! Thank you!

GROWING PAINS

Ladies and gentlemen, teathers and students. My name is Bian Qing. I am very excited and feel it's a great honor to stand here to deliver my speech. what i'm going to talk about is“growing pains”.

When I was a child, I hoped to grow up immediately. However, having grown up, how I wish I were a child! Once we grow up, the carefree times have flown away and there are so many pains waiting for us! First comes the pains of studying. Exactly, studying itself is pleasant. What pains us are examinations and scores. We have to study those boring subjects and try to get high scores in exams. It's really painful. We also suffer from dealing with others. Sometimes we may find that some people are hard to get along with. Sometimes we may quarrel with intimate friends.

Such things always(转载自:小草范文网:回到童年的英语演讲稿) hurt our feelings. Parents may bring us pains, too. We think they don't understand us. They

forbid us to do what interests us and force us to do what we hate. They keep telling us what to do and what not to do as is we knew noting. They don't really care what is in our mind. Growing up seems to mean endless pains, So many people wish to return to childhood. But you know, that's impossible. We can do nothing but stand up and overcome them, even enjoy them and shoulder our responsibilities. My dear classmates, don't be afraid of growing up! Don't be afraid of pains. No pains, no gains. Only after tasting pains can we better enjoy sweetness and happiness. Let's grow up in pains, grow up from pains.

Thank you!

How time flies! Now I am a young man. Every time I open my photo album, those childish pictures of mine always remind me of the cheerful side of my childhood. My family is not a rich one, but as I am the only child in my family, my parents love me very much. When I was a little kid, they were ready to do anything for me. I still remember the evenings when, before going to bed, I asked my mother to tell me stories. She used to tell me fairy tales, most of which had a brave and honest boy as a hero. Having finished the story, my mother often patted me on the head gently, saying, ”My child, I hope you

will be as good a boy as the hero in the story.” Now I am a student in senior two, I hope that I can live up to my mother’s expectations. The memory of my childhood is like a sweet dream. Instead of trying going back to the happy childhood, I will try harder to make a promising future. (183 words)

One day, all my family went to climb a mountain. There father told my elder sister and me that the first one to get to the top of the mountain would be given a toy. Hearing this, we began to run up. At first I kept ahead, but a few minutes later my sister was ahead of me. However, I didn't give up. That toy attracted me to run forward, In the end I reached the top first. On the top we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and had a picnic. At dusk, we went down the mountain happily. I was the happiest one, because I not only got a toy train but also knew that one shouldn't give up readily.

Wow, what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King. But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up, and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams. However, we meed dreams. They nourish our spirit; they represent possibility even when we are dragged down by reality. They keep us going. Most successful people are dreamers as well as ordinary people who are not afraid to think big and dare to be great. When we

童年最美好的回忆是什么英语作文【最美好的爱英语作文】 i have a friend who is falling in love. she honestly claims the sky is bluer. mozart moves her to tears. she has lost 15 pounds and looks like a cover girl. ”i'm young again!” she shouts euberantly. as my friend raves on about her new love, i've taken a good look at my old one. my husband of almost 20 years, scott, has gained 15 pounds. once a marathon runner, he now runs only down hospital halls. his hairline is receding and his body shows the signs of long working hours and too many candy bars. yet he can still give me a certain look across a restaurant table and i want to ask for the check and head home. when my friend asked me “what will make this love last?” i ran through all the obvious reasons: commitment, shared interests, unselfishness, physical attraction, communication. yet there's more. we still have fun. spontaneous good times. yesterday, after slipping the rubber band off the rolled up newspaper, scott flipped it playfully at me: this led to an all-out war. last saturday at the grocery, we split the list and raced each other to see who could make it to the checkout first. even washing dishes can be a blast. we enjoy simply being together. and there are surprises. one time i came home to find a note on the front door that led me to another note, then another, until i reached the walk-in closet. i opened the door to find scott holding a “pot of gold” (my cooking kettle) and the “treasure” of a gift package. sometimes i leave him notes on the mirror and little presents under his pillow. there is understanding. i understand why he must play basketball with the guys. and he understands why, once a year, i must get away from the house, the kids—and even him-to meet my sisters for a few days of nonstop talking and laughing. there is sharing. not only do we share household worries and parental burdens—we also share ideas. scott came home from a convention last month and presented me with a thick historical novel. though he prefers thrillers and science fiction, he had read the novel on the plane. he touched my heart when he eplained it was because he wanted to be able to echange ideas about the book after i'd read it. there is forgiveness. when i'm embarrassingly loud and crazy at parties, scott forgives me. when he confessed losing some of our savings in the stock market, i gave him a hug and said, “it's okay. it's only money.” there is sensitivity. last week he walked through the door with that look that tells me it's been a tough day. after he spent some time with the kids, i asked him what happened. he told me about a 60-year-old woman who'd had a stroke. he wept as he recalled the woman's husband standing beside her bed, caressing her hand. how was he going to tell this husband of 40 years that his wife would probably never recover? i shed a few tears myself. because of the medical crisis. because there were still people who have been married 40 years. because my husband is still moved and concerned after years of hospital rooms and dying patients. there is faith. last tuesday a friend came over and confessed her fear that her husband is losing his courageous battle with cancer. on wednesday i went to lunch with a friend who is struggling to reshape her life after divorce. on thursday a neighbor called to talk about the
