The First Lady’s speech

This was the time when Barack Obama was running for president of the United States. As the first lady in American, Michelle deliver a speech to proclaim what she thought and concerned about the future for the US. All in all, she moved me not just because her voices but also the sincere feeling. The word she said always seems simple but has a strong rallying point to unite everyone. Using parallel structure, it created the momentum that can encourage people to get together.

Michelle said she loved Barack for the character he has. With patience and wisdom, and courage and grace. For Barack, success isn’t about how much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives. As a excellent, or as a president, Michelle said that Barack never forgotten how he started, he will going to do what he had promised even when it was hard. There was no such things as “us”and “them”for him. When feet the difficulties, Barack never let himself got distracted by the chatter and the noise. In my view, this all encourage me to become a excellent and independent man. When the challenges we face start to seem overwhelming or even impossible, we must remind that many person can be great not just because their talent, most importantly, it is depend on the sweat you shed.

From Michelle’s speech, I also know that a country which wants to be strong. It’s not just by the weapon and the violence. The future it will be all depend the generation. So she said we should give all the kids a foundation for their dream and opportunities worthy of their promise, give them that sense of limitless possibility. So the government must be work harder. I think it’s very right that we all need to create the beautiful life. Just fighting.

Jobs just told the university students three stories, no big idea. The first thing he talked was about connecting the dots in your life. Then he explained why he dropped out of Reed College, for which he couldn’t see the value in it and he was no idea how college was going to help him figure it out. Only when we experienced something will we can connect them looking forward. The second story is about love and lost. There was a hard time when Jobs was fired in his own company. Suddenly the heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again. He did not depressed but rebuilt two companies which now make a great difference in the world, one named Pixar, and the another was Next. Luckily, he also fall in love with Laurence Powell and got married with her. Following out the third story was about death. Jobs was very clearly about death because he was diagnosed with cancer. The doctor told him that he should expect to live no longer than three to six months. He said that was the closest he had been to facing death. Thankfully, he was cured finally. No one has ever escaped death and that is as it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life.

Surely, we all will be dead someday. So don’t waste the time living someone else’s life, don’t be trapped by rule, don’t let the noise of others’opinions drown out our inner voice. As Jods’s saying goes,” Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick, don’t lose faith, love your job.”We must have. the courage to follow our heart and intuition, they somehow already know what us truly want to become.

Keep going, don’t settle. Follow the things what we love and always remember what Jobs told us-- ”Stay hungry, stay foolish”.
