FOREWORD
前言
This Employee Handbook is designed to give you an overall insight and understanding of working in MERITUS MINGDE SHANGHAI.
本员工手册旨在使您对上海铭德君华大酒店有整体的了解，并知晓如何在其中工作。

The Managerial team reserves the right to amend any part contained in this handbook. Any amendment should be reviewed and approved by the hotel management before it can take effect and be implemented. Where any point in this handbook differs from the notices, circulars that the Hotel may issue from time to time, the latter will take precedence.
酒店管理层有权对本手册的内容进行修改与调整，任何修改均需得到酒店管理层的审核确认方可生效。

今后酒店颁布的任何管理条例有与之相悖之处，均以后者为准。

The "employee handbook" is provide hotel Overview, staff recruitment, staff wages and benefits, the staff code of conduct, the hotel various rules and regulations, security and other provisions for hotel employees.
本《员工手册》为上海铭德君华大酒店工作的员工提供有关酒店概况、员工聘用、员工工资福利、员工行为规范、酒店各种规章制度、安全等规定。

This manual is not the only source of information on hotels; each employee has an obligation familiar with the department's own rules and regulations. In addition, the hotel has the responsibility under the business development staff handbook need for timely adjustment of the relevant provisions in the hotel and will be regularly posted on the bulletin board in the publicity staff, our staff should be concerned about and implementation.
此手册并非本酒店信息的唯一来源，每位员工都有义务熟悉自己所在部门的规定和条例。

此外，酒店有责任根据业务发展需要及时调整员工手册中的有关条文，酒店并会定期张贴在员工布告栏中公示，酒店员工应予关注和执行。

It gives me great pleasure to be able to welcome you today as new members of the Meritus Mingde Shanghai team.

Meritus is a luxury Asian brand that prides itself in offering the finest hospitality for business and leisure travelers. Our n ame is a Latin word that means ‘deserving of merit’, which together with our distinctly Asian logo symbol is a fusion of Eastern philosophy and respect of Western sophistication – we offer the best of Asian and Western hospitality.

Our owning company Mingdu Property Development has invested a total of US$100 million into this project making it one their most important projects. Needless to say, they will be placing a great deal of emphasis on ensuring the success of the hotel.

The hotel you are joining will have the privilege of being the first International 5 star hotel to open and operate in the Zhabei district which is now beginning to emerge as the new CBD area of Shanghai as many companies move their operations into the district.

Our hotel will feature 288 rooms, 5 Food & Beverage outlets, extensive conference and banqueting facilities, a health spa and fitness center, 3 executive floors including the Meritus Club Lounge and a swimming pool. These facilities are very important for drawing guests to come and stay at the hotel. However what is more important and vital to the success of our hotel, is the welcome they receive when they arrive, the service they receive during their stay,
the farewell they receive when they depart and the follow up service they receive afterwards –this all comes down to t he hotel’s most important resource –YOU, our staff. Our service promise is Asian Grace, Warmth and Care each time a Guest stays. We don’t just promise good service or excellent service – we promise warm service that cares!

You will receive a great deal of training over the next few weeks to enable you to help provide this level of service to our guests once the hotel opens. For those of you have worked in pre-opening hotels before, you will know that it is hard work, but you will also know the thrill of when the hotel opens after all of your hard work. We are now in the final 90 day period prior to our soft opening, this is a vital and busy period to ensure that all of the hotel’s systems, equipment and operations are installed, checked and tested prior to opening for our guests. I encourage you to listen to your supervisors, managers and Department Heads, learn all you can and work hard – together we will make this one of the best five-star hotel in Shanghai.

Shanghai Minqiang Investment (Group) Co. Ltd came into existence from Shanghai Minqiang Housing Development Co. Ltd.
The company has developed and accomplished several engineering projects since engaged in the housing industry such as Mingde International Plaza and Meritus Mingde Shanghai.
Through experienced in the market for a dozen times of years, Minqiang is combined with the local feature in the change of market and has formed a development idea and sales mind with its own character. With the development of the company scale, the group company is forming a business chain among Housing Development, Hotel Management, Estate Management, Furniture Appliance and Building Material Production in order to stand in the market and widen the business space, thus contributing to the housing development in Shanghai.

早在1995年公司从事沪上房地产业以来，已先后开发完成和在建的项目有：万荣阳光苑、丽景翠庭、铭德国际广场、铭德君华大酒店等相关项目。

员工聘用条例
3.1 Recruitment guidelines员工聘用指南
An applicant under 18 years old will not be employed by the hotel.
酒店不聘用任何未满十八周岁之申请者。

An applicant must state the names of relatives, if any, working in the hotel.
申请者如有任何亲属在本酒店工作，须告知亲属姓名。

Every applicant must be screened by the Director of Human Resources and Division Head and approved by the General Manager prior to placement in the job. Criteria used in recruitment will be based on educational qualification, language ability, working experience and attitude.
任何申请者只有通过人力资源部和各部门面试并得到总经理批准后方可就职。

聘用标准将以其受教育程度，语言能力，工作经历及工作态度为基础。

The selected applicant must submit the following credentials to the Human Resources Department when reporting on the first day of working:
在就职第一天，受聘之申请者必须向人力资源部提交以下证件：
1）Six Photographs, full face without hat (five 1 inch in size) taken not longer than three
months previously

New employees after the delivery of relevant documents, fill out the "entry registration form," for the entry procedures for the new hotel by the Human Resources Department staff to establish personal files;
新员工交付有关证明文件后，填写《入职登记表》，办理入职手续；酒店由人力资源部为新员工建立个人档案；
When new employees report for work, they will receive: staff manuals, dining cards, attendance cards, work nameplate, work uniforms, wardrobe and key, and more supplies from the Human Resources Department and for recipients of the registration receipt;
新员工报到时领取：员工手册、就餐卡、考勤卡、工作铭牌、工作制服、更衣柜和钥匙等，以上用品由人力资源部发放并作领用签收登记；
The new entry procedures for staff, human resources and personnel departments do a good job of training new employees and the organization of work.
新员工入职手续办理后，人力资源部和用人部门做好新员工的培训和工作安排。

3.2 Probation period员工试用期
Each employee is subject to a probationary period of 3~6 months. (Probationary period included in the contract period.)If his/her your working performance is unsatisfactory, hotel can terminate of the labor contract.
每位员工必须通过三至六个月的试用期。

（试用期包括在合同期内）若员工在试用期内，不符合录用条件，酒店有权与员工解除劳动合同。

Each probationary employee has to attend a medical examination in the appointed hospital and has to be certified medically fit for employment by the hospital appointed by the hotel.
每位试用期员工必须接受指定医院的体检并且必须由酒店指定的医院提供证书证明其健康状况符合聘用标准。

The first medical examination should be paid by the staff own. Hotel starts taking the medical examination for the staff once a year from the second year they entered the hotel. If any person is found suffering from infectious diseases, his/her job should be suspended and meanwhile starting treatment, thus the health security of the company / hotel employees and customers can be ensured. During the treatment period, the salary and the welfare of the staff will be implemented by relevant laws and regulations. If employees are found suffering from hepatitis or infectious diseases that can not be totally cured in the medical cure period ruled
by the country, then they can not do the original work and the two-side labor contract will disarm naturally on its own.
首次体检费由员工自负。

酒店员工入职后第二年起每年为员工体检一次，凡发现员工患有传染性等疾病，应予停职治疗，以确保公司/酒店员工及客户的卫生安全。

治疗期间的工资及福利按有关法规执行。

员工若被发现患有肝炎、传染疾病并且不能在国家规定的医疗期内治愈，并不能从事原工作，双方劳动合同将自行解除。

At the discretion of the hotel, you may be required to be medically examined, including X-ray and blood check from time to time.
按酒店的要求，员工将需要接受不定期的健康检查，包括X光检查及验血。

3.3 Working hours, rest days and overtime 工作时间，休息日和超时工作
In accordance with the Labor Law, the normal working hours shall be forty hours (meal breaks exclusive) average per week. At least 1 day off will be accorded to you per week.
根据《中华人民共和国劳动法》规定，您每周平均工作时间应是40小时（不包括用餐时间）。

您将获得每周至少1天的休息日。

Unless authorized by the Division Head, employees are not allowed to leave the Hotel premises during working hours and meal breaks.
未经部门总监的许可，员工不得在工作或用餐时间离开酒店。

Your actual duty hours shall be in accordance to the duty roster prepared by your Department. The Hotel reserves the right to change the roster whenever it is deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the hotel.
您实际的工作时间应根据您的部门所编制的部门排班表，酒店为提高工作效率在必要时有权变更排班表。

Overtime is defined as authorized work performed by you in excess of your normal scheduled working hours. You are expected to work overtime in excess of your normal scheduled working hours as and when requested by your superiors. This may be on rest days and /or statutory holidays.
超时工作是指在您的正常计划工作外由上司指派您完成的工作。

酒店希望您在必要时能够进行超时工作,加班可能会安排在休息日或法定休假日。

3.4 Time card & swipe card 考勤卡的使用规定
You are required to clock your ID card on a time clock machine situated at the staff entrance/exit whenever you enter or leave the hotel. This also applies to staff leaving the hotel for official business, medical consultations at hospital or to attend to personal matters.
在进入或离开酒店时，员工需要在位于员工出入口处的考勤机上刷卡。
