万圣节带翻译的英文介绍Halloween (万圣节)In many countries around the world, the 31st of October is a day of spooky fun and excitement. This is the day when people celebrate Halloween, a festival with ancient roots and a unique blend of traditions. Let's dive into the magical world of Halloween and explore its customs and symbols, all while providing translations for some key terms in English.History and Origins (历史与起源)The origins of Halloween can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which marked the end of summer and the beginning of winter. On this day, the Celts believed that the spirits of the dead would return to Earth and cause mischief. To ward off these spirits, they would light bonfires and wear costumes. This tradition eventually evolved into what we now know as Halloween.Trick-or-Treating (不给糖就捣蛋)One of the most popular Halloween traditions is trick-or-treating. Children dress up in costumes and go from door to door, knocking and saying, "Trick or treat!" In exchange for this playful threat, they receive candy or other treats. It is believed that this tradition originated from the ancient practice of leaving food and offerings for roaming spirits.Jack-o'-lanterns (南瓜灯)Jack-o'-lanterns are a recognizable symbol of Halloween. Traditionally, turnips or potatoes were hollowed out and carved with eerie faces to wardoff evil spirits. However, the pumpkin became the popular choice in North America due to its abundance and easier carvability. These carved pumpkins, with a lit candle inside, create an eerie glow and are often placed on doorsteps or windows to welcome trick-or-treaters.Costumes and Dressing Up (穿梭妆)On Halloween, people of all ages dress up in costumes. Whether it's as a superhero, a spooky creature, or a famous character, costumes allow individuals to transform themselves into someone or something else. This tradition not only adds to the festive atmosphere but also gives people the opportunity to showcase their creativity. It's not uncommon to see both children and adults participating in costume contests during Halloween parties.Haunted Houses and Parties (鬼屋与派对)During Halloween, haunted houses and parties are organized to create a spine-chilling experience. Haunted houses are often adorned with spooky decorations and filled with actors dressed as ghosts, vampires, and other frightening creatures. They aim to offer a thrilling and terrifying adventure for those brave enough to enter. Halloween parties, on the other hand, provide a more lighthearted atmosphere with music, dancing, and costume contests, allowing people to socialize and enjoy the holiday.Traditional Food and Treats (传统食品与小吃)Just like any other festival, Halloween has its own traditional foods and treats. In many English-speaking countries, special treats like caramel apples, candy corn, and pumpkin pie are prepared and enjoyed during this time. These sweets add to the festive spirit and are often shared among friends and family at gatherings or given out to trick-or-treaters.Translations (翻译)Here are some key terms related to Halloween with their respective translations:1. 万圣节的习俗英语版介绍_快来看看你懂不万圣节的习俗〔英文版〕Halloween originated as a celebration connected with evil spirits. Witches flying on broomsticks with ghosts, goblins and skeletons have all evolved as symbols of Halloween. Bats, owls and other nocturnal animals are also popular symbols of Halloween. They were originally feared because people believed that these creatures could communicate with the spirits of the dead.Black cats are also symbols of Halloween and have religious origins as well. Black cats were considered to be reincarnated beings with the ability to divine the future. During the Middle Ages it was believed that witches could turn themselves into black cats. Thus when such a cat was seen, it was considered to be a witch in disguise. All these are popular trick-or-treat costumes and decorations for greeting cards and windows.Black is one of the traditional Halloween colors, probably because Halloween festivals and traditions took place at night.Pumpkins are also a symbol of Halloween. The pumpkin is an orange-colored squash, and orange has become the other traditional Halloween color. Carving pumpkins into jack- o-lanterns is a Halloween custom also dating back to Ireland. A legend grew up about a man named Jack who was so stingy that he was not allowed into heavenwhen he died, because he was a miser. He couldnt enter hell either because he had played jokes on the devil. As a result, Jack had to walk on the earth with his lantern until Judgement Day. So Jack and his lantern became the symbol of a lost or damned soul. To scare these souls away on Halloween, the Irish people carved scary faces out of turnips, beets or potatoes representing Jack of the Lantern, or Jack-o-lantern. When the Irish brought their customs to the United States, they carved faces on pumpkins because in the autumn they were more plentiful than turnips. Today jack-o-lanterns in the windows of a house on Halloween night let costumed children know that there are goodies waiting if they knock and say Trick or Treat!

Halloween is a holiday that is celebrated on October31st every year. It originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which was held on the same day. Halloween is now celebrated all over the world, but it is most popular in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. On Halloween, people often dress up in costumes and go trick-or-treating. Trick-or-treating is a tradition where children go from house to house, saying "trick or treat" and receiving candy or other treats in return. People also decorate their homes with spooky decorations, such as ghosts, witches, and skeletons.Another popular Halloween activity is carving pumpkins. People often carve faces or other designs into pumpkins and place candles inside to create a spooky effect. Halloweenparties are also common, where people gather to eat, drink, and socialize while wearing costumes. In addition to its fun and festive traditions, Halloween also has a more serious side. It is believed to be a time when the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest, making it easier for spirits to cross over into our world. As a result, many people believe in ghosts and other supernatural beings during this time of year.Overall, Halloween is a holiday that is both fun and spooky, with a rich history and many unique traditions.

Halloween, also known as All Hallows' Eve, is a celebration observed in many countries on October 31st. It is a time for people to dress up in costumes, attend parties, and go trick-or-treating. The origins of Halloween can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, where people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. Over time, Halloween has evolved into a fun and festive holiday that is enjoyed by people of all ages. One of my favorite things about Halloween is the opportunity to dress up in creative and unique costumes. Whether it's a classic vampire or a trendy pop culture reference, there are endless possibilities for costumes. I remember one year, I dressed up as a zombie bride and had so much fun putting together my costume with tattered wedding dress and spooky makeup. It was a hit at theHalloween party I attended, and I received so many compliments on my creativity.Another aspect of Halloween that I love is thetradition of carving pumpkins. Every year, my friends and I get together to carve intricate designs into pumpkins, andit's always a blast. We play spooky music, drink apple cider, and laugh as we try to create the perfect jack-o'-lantern. It's a tradition that I look forward to every year, and it really brings a sense of camaraderie and fun to the holiday. In addition to dressing up and carving pumpkins, I also enjoy the thrill of haunted houses and spooky attractions. There's something exhilarating about being scared in a controlled environment, and I love the adrenaline rush that comes with visiting a well-designed haunted house. It's a great way to get into the Halloween spirit and enjoy some spooky thrills with friends.Overall, Halloween is a holiday that brings people together to have fun, be creative, and enjoy some spookyexcitement. Whether it's dressing up in costumes, carving pumpkins, or visiting haunted houses, there's something for everyone to enjoy. I always look forward to Halloween and the chance to celebrate with friends and family.

Celebration Games
• forms of divination(占卦)
• carve pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns(杰克灯)
• trick or treat • apple dunking(浸泡) and bobbing(咬)
Sometimes a black cat would ride away into the sky on the back of the witch's broom.
October 31st is Halloween
Halloween is one of the world’s oldest holidays, celebrated in several countries around the globe including the USA, Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, Mexico, Latin America, and Spain.
And from black paper you'd cut "scary" designs ---an evil witch with a pointed hat riding through the sky on a broomstick, maybe with black bats flying across the moon, and that meant bad luck. And of course black cats for more bad luck.
Origin 起源
• In ancient times, western people thought the evil ghosts will return to earth on every October 31 night. In order to drove the evil ghosts away, they lightened the fire and made candlesticks old and the house really deserted, it appears no one was living there, thus the evil ghosts would not come into the house. They also deliberately dressed very untidy looking very ugly, so the evil ghosts didn't want to be close to them. Futhermore, they also knew the evil ghosts are afraid of noise, so they put on grotesque clothes to the streets. This is the origin of Halloween.
Trick or Treat
When children went to neighbors‘ houses together, ringing their doorbell and yelling,
• the telling of ghost stories and viewing of horror films
What do children do on Halloween?
They carve pumpkin lanterns. They trick or treat. They watch scary movies. They visit haunted houses.
Jack-o-lantern
One story about Jack, an Irishman, who was not allowed into Heaven because he was stingy with his money. So he was sent to hell. But down there he played tricks on the Devil (Satan), so he was kicked out of Hell and made to walk the earth forever carrying a lantern
see how other people make a Jack-o'lant night we'd dress up in Mom or Dad's old shoes and clothes, put on a mask, and be ready to go outside.
Children would make Halloween decorations, all kinds of orange-paper jack-o-lanterns.
