Additionally, avalanche risk increases with___10___; that is, the more a slope is disturbed by skiers, the. more likely it is that an avalanche will occur.Due to the complexity of the subject, winter travelling in the backcountry is never 100% safe.Good avalanche safety is a continuous___11___, including route selection and examination of the snowpack, weather___12___, and human factors.

Belt has some advice if you are thinking about a career in photography. You can volunteer to take pictures for a local organization that can’t afford to hire a professional photographer. You can also take a good, honest look at your best photographs. If you’re a real photographer, your photos are good because of your personal and technical skills. Belt also remends studying and learning from photos taken by professional photographers.
If I were you, I would invite him to the party.(如果我是你,我会邀请他参加聚会。
advice“建议”,不可数名词,a piece of advice或pieces of advice(一条建议或多条建议);think about“考虑”;in photography,在某一领域用介词in。

In many of the developing countries in Africa and Asia , the population is growing fast . The reason for this is simple : Women in these countries have a high birth rate — from 3.0 to 7.0 children per woman . The majority of these women are poor , without the food or resources to care for their families ? The answer may be that they often have no choice . There are several reasons for this .??? One reason is economic . In a traditional agricultural economy , large families are helpful .Having more children means having more workers in the fields and someone to take care of the parents in old age1. In an industrial economy, the situation is different. Many children , do not help a family; instead, they are an expense. Thus, industrialization has generally brought down the birth rate. This was the case in Italy, which was industrialized quite recently and rapidly. In the early part of the twentieth century, Italy was a poor, largely agricultural country with a high birth rate. After World WarⅡ, Italy's economy was rapidly modernized and industrialized. By the end of the century, the birth rate had dropped to 1.3 children per woman, the world's lowest. However, the economy is not the only important factor that influences birth rate. Saudi Arabia, for example, does not have an agriculture-based economy, and it has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world. Nevertheless, it also has a very high birth rate(7.0). Mexico and Indonesia, on the other hand, are poor countries, with largely agricultural economies, but they have recently reduced their population growth.Clearly, other factors are involved. The most important of these is the condition of women. A high birth rate almost always goes together with lack of education and low status for women.2 This would explain the high birth rate of Saudi Arabia. There, the traditional culture gives women little education or independence and few possibilities outside the home. On the other hand, the improved condition of women in Mexico, Thailand, and Indonesia explains the decline in birth rates in these countries. Their governments have taken measures to provide more education and opportunities for women.。

The rocks in which it is found are almost always of ocean origin and the prtroleum-forming organisms must have been ocean creatures rather than trees.
2.Instead of originating in accumulating woody matter, petroleum may be the product of the accumlating fatty matter of ocean organisms such as plankton, the myriads of single-celled creatures that float in the surface layers of the ocean.

These stories fall into three general categories: autobiography, memoir, and biography. An autobiography is the story of a person's life written by himself or herself. Often it begins with the person's earliest recollections and ends in the present. Autobiography writers may not be entirely objective in the way they present themselves. However, they offer the reader a good look at the way they are and what makes them that way. People as diverse as Benjarmin Franklin and Helen Keller have written autobiographies. 1Other writers, such as James Joyce, have written thinly fictionalized accounts of their lives. These are not autobiographies, but they are very close to it.Memoirs, strictly speaking, are autobiographical accounts that focus as much on the events of the times as on the life of the author. 2Memoir writers typically use these events as backdrops for their lives. They describe them in detail and discuss their importance. Recently, though, the term memoir seems to be becoming interchangeab1e with autobiography. A memoir nowadays may or may not deal with the outside world.Biographies are factual accounts of someone else's life. In many senses, these may be the hardest of the three types to write. Autobiography writers know the events they write about because they lived them. But biography writers have to gather information from as many different sources as possible. Then they have to decide which facts to include. Their goal is to present a balanced picture of a person, not one that is overly positive or too critical. A fair well-presented biography may take years to research and write.词汇:backdrop /'b k,dr?p/ n. 背景 interchangeable /int? 't?end??bl/ adj. 1. People as diverse as Benjamin Franklin and Helen Keller have written autobiographies.

In many of the developing countries in Africa and Asia , the population is growing fast . The reason for this is simple : Women in these countries have a high birth rate — from to children per woman . The majority of these women are poor , without the food or resources to care for their families The answer may be that they often have no choice . There are several reasons for this .One reason is economic . After World WarⅡ, Italy's economy was rap idly modernized and industrialized. By the end of the century, the birth rate had dropped to 1. 3 children per woman, the world's lowest. However, the economy is not the only important factor that influences birth rate. Saudi Arabia, for example, does not have an agriculture-based economy, and it has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world. Nevertheless, it also has a very high birth rate. Mexico and Indonesia, on the other hand, are poor countries, with largely agricultural economies, but they have recently reduced their population growth.Clearly, other factors are involved. The most important of these is the condition of women. A high birth rate almost always goes together with lack of education and low status for This would explain the high birth rate of Saudi Arabia. There, the traditional culture gives women little education or independence and few possibilities outside the home. On the other hand, the improved condition of women in Mexico, Thailand, and Indonesia explains the decline in birth rates in these countries. Their governments have taken measures to provide more education and opportunities for women.Another key factor in the birth rate is birth control. Women may want to limit their families but have no way to do so. In countries where governments have made birth control easily available and inexpensive, birth rates have gone down. This is the case in Singapore, Sri Lanka, and India, as well as in Indonesia, Thailand, Mexico, and Brazil. In these countries, women have also been provided with health care and help in planning their families. These trends show that an effective program to reduce population growth does not have to depend。

1.These are their motives for doing it.A.reasonsB.excusesC.answersD.reply上题中如果你不知道these、are、their、for、it这些单词的话,那就很难答题,尤其在阅读当中。
Hearing problems may be alleviated by changes in diet and exercise habits.A.removedB.curedC.worsenedD.relieved1、好像没见过,查字典:alleviate考研|GRE|IELTS英[əˈli:vieɪt]美[əˈliviˌet]vt.
A New StartAfter Christmas comes the anti-Christmas.If the festive season is all about filing up on the things you like that are bad for you, then the new year is the“Detox season”when people across the western world adopt special diets to lose weight and get rid of the vague feeling that they have spent the last few weeks poisoning themselves. But are Detox diets really necessary? After all,the body itself gets rid of unwanted substances. That’s what the liver and kidney are for.“The Detox fad or fads,as there are many methods,is an example of the capacity of people to believe in and pay for magic despite the lack of any sound evidence,”says Martin Wiseman, professor of human nutrition at the University of Southampton in the U K.Most of the pills, juices, teas and oils that are sold for their detoxifying effects on the body have no scientific foundation for their claims, according to the research.People would be better off having a glass of water and going to bed early.Detox diets may be magic rather science, but they are the kind of magic which many people want to perform. That may have something to do with the western diet in general.Scientists and dieticians argue that the benefits people feel are not due to their body getting rid of excessive toxins but are due to changing from what is likely to have been a“poor”diet.Having fewer headaches, for example,is probably the result of being fully hydrated due to drinking so much water and better skin may be due to eating more fruit and vegetables.Detox diets may also be dangerous,as they may deprive vulnerable group pregnant women, for instance,or growing teenagers of the kind of nutrients they need.Yet their popularity continues to rise. This may be something to do with the way that food works within many western cultures. Generally,a country's food develops along with its economy and society.Food becomes part of a person’s cultural identity. In some countries, this link has been broken. In the UK,for example, rapid industrialization in the18th and19th centuries saw millions of people move from the countryside to the towns interrupting the development of a national cuisine. The United States,a country of immigrants from many different places, has found it hard to develop a national cuisine. In both places, comparatively few people cook for themselves and food supply is dominated by big processing and agribusiness companies.Detox diets are more popular in these countries than in places like France and Italy, where strong links between food and national culture remain, and where far more people regularly cook for themselves instead of buying processed foods.Perhaps Detox diets are successful because many westerners have lost mast in what they eat.On the other hand, they may help re-introduce people to the kind of food that is necessary for a healthy diet. And after learning that, they won’t poison themselves in the first place. This would mean radical changes in the way that people eat across the west. And that would be an unwelcome development for the food industry. From the business point of view,it is much better to sell people the problem and then sell them the solution.16.Detox begins after Christmas when people think that they have been overeating during the Christmas season and have taken in many substances that are bad for their health.A.RightB.WrongC.Not mentioned17.Many pregnant women and growing teenagers are suffering from malnutrition because of the Detox diets they take.A.RightB.WrongC.Not mentioned18.Both the UK and the USA lack a national cuisine as a result of similar historical development.A.RightB.WrongC.Not mentioned19.The French and the Italians cook for themselves more often than the British and the Americans, which helps them to keep the link between food and their culture.A.RightB.WrongC.Not mentioned20.On the whole the eastern people like the Chinese and the Japanese have a stronger link between their food and their culture than the western people.A.RightB.WrongC.Not mentioned21.A positive effect of Detox diets is that it helps people to see what foods are good for their health.A.RightB.WrongC.Not mentioned22.Food industry would m a k e even greater profits if.people should all start to eat healthy foods and stop poisoning themselves.A.RightB.WrongC.Not mentioned2、细读题目,归纳题目大意注意:这里读一题答一题,因为题目和文章顺序一致,不然全读了就忘了,不划算,这里和第三步结合着来。
