1. The explicit mandate of positive psychology (PP) is to create a bridge between substance, the empirical foundation, the science from academia and merge it with way of the best of the both worlds.

2. There're 2 levels in learning this course: the 1st one is academia, i.e. reading, w theory to one's life.

3. It's important to have time for introspecting (time to look inside, "time in"). Repla memory.

4. Background of PP :

PP is the brainchild, product and grandchild of humanistic psychology (HP).

The 1st force of HP: Behaviorism (行为主义). Founders: B.F. Skinner, John B. Wa The 2nd force HP: Psychoanalysis (精神分析学). Founders: Sigmund Freud, Carl The 3rd force of HP: PP.

Grandparents of PP: Abraham Maslow, Karen Horney, AaronAntonovsky. Parents of PP: Martin Seligman, Ellen Langer, Philip Stone.

5. PP is not about information, but transformation (interpretation of information). H mind than our status or the state of our bank account.

6. PP helps us to chip away the "excess stone" in our lives, i.e. to get rid of l that hinder us to become the best of whom we could be.
