五、记数字(Remembering Numbers)

人的短时记忆只能记住6~7个孤立、无内在联系的数字符号。但是发言人经常会用数据来做实证性说明。大量天文数字夹杂在纷繁芜杂的信息当中一古脑儿地冒出来时给译员极大的压力，往往造成错译或延时，是成功表达的重大障碍之一。以下是常用记数字方法。记数字训练必须坚持不懈。

基数表达三位数以内的数字对口译不会构成困难，而三位数以上的数字，尤其是五位数以上的数字，则成了口译的一大难关。为了便于记录和口译，我们不妨可以用“点三杠四”书写法，即用逗号(，)表示三位数，便于英语表达，用斜杠(/)表示四位数，便于汉语表达：
