沿着（河流，大街，墙壁等） 沿着大街走 walk along the street 沿着珠江跑 run along the Pearl River on 在..上；邻近，靠近（河流） 广州坐落在珠江河畔。 Guangzhou is located on the Pearl River. near 靠近 我住在海边。 I live near the sea.


by, beside, near和next to
1) by和beside均表示“在……旁边”，常可换用。 例： There is a chair by the table. 桌子边上有一把椅子。 She is standing by the window. 她站在窗边。 Come and sit beside (/by) me. 过来，坐在我边上。 Put your shoes beside mine. 把你的鞋子放在我的鞋子旁边。 Moon River is not beside (/by) the river. 月亮河饭店并不在在河边。 2) near表示“在……附近”，表示的距离比by和beside稍远些，也 时常换用。 例： Odel is near Hydepark，and Arpico is beside Hydepark. Odel 在Hydepark附近, Arpico就在旁边。 另外： near作形容词，可以表示"亲密的,近亲的"。如：He is my near friend. 他是我的好朋友。

★ another另一个，再一个

another＋单数名词 Give me another cup of coffee.


★beside和besides

一、beside是介词，表示“在……旁边”； 二、besides可以作介词和副词，表示“除……以外， 还，也”：
1.Besides a wife, she is also a mother of two children. 她除了是一个妻子以外，还是两个孩子的母亲。 2. Besides chicken, I also like eating beef、mutton and pork. 除鸡肉以外，我还喜欢吃牛肉、羊肉和猪肉。

This’s a photograph of our village. Our village is in a valley. It’s between two hills. The village is on a river.

Here is another photograph of the village. My wife and I are walking alone the banks of the river. We are on the left. There’s a boy in the river. He’s swimming across the river.


★besides和except

介词besides和except在汉语里都译为“除……以外”，但含义有差别： except表示“从所提到的人或事物中除去，即从整体中除去一部分”，表 示递减的概念，含义是否定的。 besides表示“除了……之外，还有……”，指“在整体中加入一部分”， 表示递加的概念，含义是肯定的。

试比较：
①We all went except him. 除他之外，我们都去了。(他没有去) ②We all went besides him. 除他之外，我们大家也都去了。(他也去了) 1.All of them have been to the Great Wall except me.除了我以外，他们 都去过长城了。（意指“我没去长城”。） 2.All of them have been to the Great Wall besides me.除了我以外，他们 也都去过长城了。（意指“我去了长城”。）


总结： besides包括除去的内容，except不包括出去的内容。
★between


在..之间（两者之间） Buses go between the two cities. 公车穿梭在两个城市之间。 It’s between you and me. 不要让其他人知道。 among 在…之间（三者或三者以上的之间） I like him most among all the friends. 所有朋友中，我最喜欢他。 The girl quickly disappeared in the crowd. 女孩迅速消失在人群中。

★park n. 公园 v. 停车

Victoria park 维多利亚公园 park the car here parking lot 停车场 No parking. 不许停车 Dasa parked the car here. Dasa 把车停在这。 Nuwan parked across the street. Nuwan把车停在街对面。
What are we going to do now? 我们现在要作什么？ We’re going to have a meeting 我们马上要开会。

比较： He used to have three girlfriends. One is a nurse, one is a teacher and another is a dancer. 他以前有过三个女朋友。一个是护士，一个是教师，另外一个是舞者。 Heபைடு நூலகம்now has two daughters. One is a nurse, the other is a dancer. 他有两个女儿，一个是护士，另一个是舞者。

into 进入 break into 闯入 昨晚小偷破门而入我的房子。 A thief broke into my house yesterday night。 out of 出来 小偷从我家窗子跳出来。 The thief jumped out of my window.
