Definition of Yoga
• Yoga is an ancient Indian body of knowledge that dates back more than 5000 years ago. • The word "Yoga" came from the Sanskrit word "yuj" which means "to unite or integrate." • Yoga then is about the union of a person's own consciousness and the universal consciousness.
Tips
1. Yoga should be done on empty stomach.3 or more hours after meals is recommended. 2. Warm up your arms ,legs and spine before performing yoga postures. 3. Not to stretch too much or too quickly.

4. Concentration and deep breathing should not be neglected. 5. Doing your yoga routines with a friend is a great way to stay motivated. 6. Yoga achieves its best results when practiced as a daily discipline.

Best learned from a teacher. many gyms ,community health centers and colleges offer yoga classes.
One can learn the basics from yoga DVDs, websites and books on the subject. Can't compare to learning from a teacher, but they help you find out more. Especially helpful if you have already taken yoga classes and want to practice at home.
