The change
• He was requested to write a poem which exhausted all his brain but was left undone. Later in the class , Mr.Keating make him to think, to imagine, to speak aloud, truly releasing the deep emotion of him. He succeeded. Todd made his turnaround as himself, a warm-hearted, emotional,talented, and brave young man. As for the braveness, at the last scene of his movie, he was the first student to stand on the desk to show his respect to Mr.Keating, which was impossible to happen if he was that former himself.

• If we say institution and rules are unbreakable, but later for his acting dream, he did resist in his own way. Writing a letter in the name of his father to get permission for acting, talking with Mr Keating for solution or at last committing a suicide as his final fight, he did all these, though tragic and fierce, to accomplish his breakthrough of life and finally be free.

• we can see that every time there is a new idea or thought, he must be the one who observes other students’ reaction first. Unlike Todd, he tried to fit in students’ group. When Mr.Keating asked them to rip out the pages, he was the one who hesitated most. He always worried about the tests, scores and rules. Also, in the death poets society, it was he who always give negative response. Then i think we are quite impressed by the final scenes, it was he who gave away the secrets about Dead poets society to the principle.

• Neil Perry, the passionate young man at odds with his father's expectations, wants to take control of his own life.
Todd Anderson-a ture poet under Mr.Boring
• At the beginning of this movie, Todd entered the school as a new student and shared the dormitory with Neil. He and Neil was a strong contrast with each other’s respective characters. He almost refused to join all the get- together with other students. He was not a fit-in.

• who was a obedient and lovely son but in the end, chose the most tragic way -suicide--to express his refusal of his father’s arrangement. I labeled him as Spring of youth. As we all know, he was expected highly by his strict father and forced to give up many things including his dream of being an actor.But under this circumstance, he can still remain his precious characters as an active student and a loyal friend.
