Paraphrasing what you have heard
As a student you will often need to paraphrase information that you have heard or read. That is, you will need to express the same ideas in your own words. When you paraphrase, you are showing that you understand and can remember that you heard or read.

In your own voice: giving oral presentations
In academic course you will sometimes be called on to give oral presentation in class. Here are some guidelines to keep in mind
Conduct a survey by using the form to find out the leisure activities that your friends like and dislike.

Consider using visual aid, such as a chart, a map, photographs, or drawings, to help your presentation.

Look at the pictures and tell what kind of leisure activities are these.
What leisure activities do you like or dislike?
Plan what you want to say, but do not write it out and memorize it. Instead, make notes on paper.
Organize your notes carefully, so that you present your idea in a logical order.

Work in groups and discuss what you want to do for a perfect day. Take notes in the following table
