OBJECTIVES
1. Learn about English names.
2. Develop a paragraph of comparison. 3. Enlarge vocabulary. 4. Review reading for the main idea in a paragraph.

Divide the whole class into groups and then conduct group discussion. The owner of a certain name is expected to say something about his or her name and the uniqueness of the name. The other students may comment on the name and talk about the qualities that name suggests. Then you decide on the 10 most appealing names in your class. Each group has its representative to report to the whole class. The climax of the classroom discussion would be deciding on the top 5 of the most attractive names.
Although names can leave us good impression Reference Words: or add some confidence to people’s abilities, to leave a good impression, to add some more often than not, we tend to hold prejudices confidence to , more often than not, totypical hold to people because of their names. Usually, people in USA and England have three names: the first name /the given name/ the forename, the middle name and the last name /the family name/the surname. All babies are born with the family names, then at baptism(受洗礼时),they get their middle names. However, they don’t use middle names very much. Later on they are given first names. Just like the case in China, names in the USA usually contain cultural background.
