英语作文 公共交通私家车 Public Transportation VS Private Cars

With the development of our economy, people's travelling ways have changed a lot. More and more people drive their cars to work, while less and less people choose to take public transportation. So let's do a little compare here.

Starting from the discussing of private cars. They can provide us with convenient life. They can go almost everywhere and help us save time. What's more, the rapid growth of car industry helps to keep our country's economy growing at a high speed in the future. However, as a saying goes, every coin has two sides, private cars are no exception. Nowadays, streets are crowded with cars. And many traffic accidents happened because of the traffic jams. What's worse, exhausted gas emitted by cars has increased carbon emission which diverted from the concept of living a low carbon life.

Let us then talk about public transportation. The main public transportation at present including buses, subways, bicycles and so on. And they also have their advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, they are more cheep. And from the perspective of environmental protection, public transportation can promote a low carbon living. Especially, people living in cities are so busy with their work that they have little time doing exercise. They can become healthier if they go to work by bike every day. On the other hand, it may become inconvenient on rainy days because there is no shelter from the rain. In addition, buses must be crowded and you can't have a seat in rush hours. And it's a waste of time waiting for the buses and subways.

From my perspective, we should put the public transportation in the first place unless there is something urgent. This can relieve the traffic pressure and reduce air pollution. Becides, the government should lay stress on the construction of infrastructure by building more roads, parking lots and subways etc.
