• In 1872, Yellowstone was established as the world’s first national park. • It covers an area of 2.2 million acres.
• Millions of people visit Yellowstone each year with a record number of 3,151,342 being recorded in 2002.

• One very famous Geyser is Old Faithful. • Old Faithful eruptions are predictable to within 10 minutes, erupting every 46 to 92 minutes. • Up to 8,000 gallons of scalding hot water shoots upwards. • It reaches a height of 106-184 feet
