Dear Miss President, Friends of the other debate, my friends: Hello everybody!

Nowadays, it is more and more common for college students to take part-time jobs. Why this momentum developed so well? There must be some reasons for its existence. And our view is that it’s good for college students to have a part-time job. What is the meaning of part-time jobs? Part –time jobs mean working in spare time. And there are lots of merits of them. Here we describe five following aspects. First, for college students themselves, taking part-time jobs makes them more independent and improve their ability. By the way of taking a part-time job, college students can earn money to support themselves and be more independent of their family. By the way of doing part-time jobs, they will gradually contact with society so that they can know more about it. They can have their communicative competence as well as their team work ability improved, for example. Second, taking a part-time job creates a way for college students to ease their families’ burden. As is known to all, not every student is from wealthy family. As an adult already, it’s of great significance for them to help reduce the financial stress of their parents. Third, the resources that colleges provide are so limited, but taking a part-time job can offer a broader space for college students to develop so that it can improve

college students’ overall ability. With more and more outstanding students, colleges will become better and better in terms of reputation and achievements. Last but not the least, college students have much creation and enthusiasm, which meet the requirements of the

employers .Take our university for an example,there are many students taking part-time jobs as tutors,which meet the need of the parents who desire their children to make a progress in study. Besides, hiring college students can also lower the labor cost. Taking these reasons above, college students’ taking part-time jobs can definitely promote the social development.

In summary, we strongly support the viewpoint that it is good for college students to take a part-time job.
