Design of DC regulated power supply based on
single chip microcomputer

Abstract:A DC regulated power supply with numerical control based on single chip microcomputer(SCM)is designed.SCM isthe main controller and output voltage of DC power supply can be set by keyboard.The analog voltage can be obtained throughD/A converter(DAC0832)so that different voltages can be provided by operational amplifier.The output voltage varies from0Vto 12Vwith the incremental value of 0.1V.The actual output voltage is shown in the nixietube.This DC regulated powersupply is characterized by simple structure and easy operation.

In various electronic experiments,direct current(DC)regulated power supply is a basic unit widely
used in the fields of teaching,scientific research,andso on.The traditional multi-function DC regulatedpower supply is characterized by simple function,lowreliability and low precision.It is impossible to makesome adjustment in a relatively narrow range.Theseshortcomings limit its usability greatly.With the ad-vance of single chip microcomputer and power elec-tronic technologies,DC regulated power supply sys-tem design using SCM and high performance powerelectronic devices attracts much attention from re-searchers.In this paper,a numerical control DC reg-ulated power supply based on single chip microcom-puter is designed.Compared with the traditionalmulti-function DC regulated power supply,the de-signed power supply is simple and adjustable and itsoutput has high accuracy.It can not only provide e-lectronic products with power for research or test,but also produce a continuous output voltage by soft-ware programming.It is simple but usable[1-2].
1 System hardware design
1.1 System structure
The designed system is composed of power supply,SCM,keyboard module,display module,D/A con-version circuit,DC amplifier circuit,shortcomings,etc.,as shown in Fig.1.In this system,a full bridgerectifier circuit is adopted as load power supply cir-cuit to produce stable and reliable voltage output.The voltage output from the numerical control powersupply is controlled by the keyboard through whichthe required voltage value can be input.The SCM de-tects the input value and the corresponding voltagedisplayed in nixietube is output after D/A conversionand DC amplification.The step tune of output volt-age can be controlled by keyboard.Hence this sys-tem has such functions as voltage setting,step tune,voltage display,and so on[3].
