What is prose ?

a direct, unadorned form of language, written or spoken, in ordinary usage. It differs from poetry or verse in that it is not restricted in rhythm, measure or rhyme —J,A, Cudden A dictionary of literary terms and literary theory

In narrow sense, it may contain essay, diary, biography ,reportage, business comment, and scientific articles etc. Confined to the field of contemporary literature, the concept of prose generally refers to the graceful and elegant articles or writings which focus on narration and expression, juxtaposed with argumentation.
