It is an open zone of economic development. It has been an administrative prefecture named Xunzhou ever since the Sui Dynasty (581-618DC). After 1021 it was named Huizhou until now. The city is a very important spot for her strategic and geographical position.

If you are of Chinese descent, you may be interested in paying homage to the Tomb of Huang Di Ling (Yellow Emperor mausoleum, 30 miles away from Xi’an), the first Chinese emperor.

Daishan Island, also called “Penglai Fairyland,” the Province-level scenic spot, consists of 532 islands. These islands are like a flake of lotus leaves scattered across East China Sea. It is known as “Fairyland on the Sea.” On the island there are ten spots. The newly built “Huazang World” on the hill may be rated as unique in China.

湛山寺山门一对石狮子，雕凿精细。寺外 建有“药师琉璃光如来宝塔”，简称“药 师塔”。 In front of the gate of Zhanshansi Temple stand a pair of exquisitely carved stone lions. By the side of the temple there stands the Yaoshita Pagoda (the Druggist Pagoda).
