more than, other than和rather than是三个常用的短语，英语学习者感到容易混淆。下面分别谈谈它们的意思和用法。

一、more than的本意为“超过”，但具体在句子中其意思多样。

1. more than后接名词或名词从句，意思为“不只是、不仅仅是”等，相当于not only。如：

He is more than a friend of mine. 他不只我的是一个朋友。

My trip to Beijing is more than sightseeing. 我到北京的旅行不仅仅是观光而已。

2. more than后接数字，表示“以上、不只”，相当于over。如：
