Mid-autumn Day is a Chinese festival. On that day we usually eat a big dinner and eat moon cakes. On that day, the moon looks brighter and rounder. We call this moon the full moon. On that day, families get together, so we call this day Getting –together Day.

传说月亮里有一棵高五百丈的月桂 树。汉朝时有个叫吴刚的人，醉心 于仙道而不专心学习，因此天帝震 怒，把他居留在月宫，令他在月宫 伐桂树，并说：“如果你砍倒桂树， 就可获仙术。”但吴刚每砍一斧， 斧起而树创伤就马上愈合，日复一 日，吴刚伐桂的愿望仍未达成，因 此吴刚在月宫常年伐桂，始终砍不 倒这棵树,因而后世的人得以见到 吴刚在月中无休无止砍伐月桂的形 象。

According to legend, in ancient time, one year, ten suns appeared in the sky, the water in the planet dried, people couldn’t live any longer.
Different Kinds of Mooncakes
Nowadays, the mooncakes are made in all kinds of shapes .
The round shape of moon cakes just symbolizes not only the moon but also the unity of the family.
The earth was saved when a strong archer, Hou Yi, succeeded in shooting down 9 of the suns. So he become famous and have his apprentices(徒 弟) .
