●They may turn off the lights and light candles. 他们 可能关上灯,点燃蜡烛。 ①turn off 关掉,turn on 打开,turn up调高,turn down调 低。 ②light既作名词,表示“灯;电灯”,是可数名词,也作 动词,意为“点燃;点着”。其过去式及过去分词有 两种形式:light—lit—lit; light—lighted—lighted。 lighted 常用于名词前作定语,相当于形容词。另外 ,light 还可以作动词表示“照亮;照明”,也可作形容 词,表示“轻的”。 做一做:根据汉语提示完成下列句子。

He got out of the bed and lighted the candles . ●I think it’s fun to dress up as cartoon characters! 我 认为装扮成卡通人物很有趣! 该句是I think后跟的宾语从句,这里省略了连词that 。其中dress up意为“打扮; 穿上特殊服装”等 ,dress up as表示“打扮成……”。 【辨析】in, put on, wear, dress, have on的用法: 都含有“穿、戴”之意,但用法不同。 ①in是介词,后接表示衣服或颜色的词,着重于服装 的款式或颜色。它所构成的短语只能作表语或定 语。
