The First Period
一．Main points:
1. Learning the topic sentence: Fun with Koko
2. Learning Part A: six new words
二．Difficult points:
1. The personal pronouns: I , You
2. Sentence pattern: Are you …?
三．Teaching aids:
word cards, pictures ,a tape-recorder and stickers
四．Teaching procedure:
(一). Warming-up exercises:
1. Having oral practice
2. Read 26 letters together
(二). Revision:
1. Reviewing some words in Unit 1
2. Reviewing sentence patterns in Unit 1
(三). Presentation:
1. Bring in a photograph of yourself.
2. Show the pupils your photograph. Describe yourself. Say ,for example, ‘I’m thin.I’m short.’
3. Draw three pairs of figures on the board. Make them fat,thin ,tall, short big and small. Write the corresponding adjectives under them.
4. Play the tape. Ask the pupils to repeat Jojo’s and Momo’s words after the beeps. Do the same with the vocabulary items.
