my view on academic corruption

From Ancient to modern, the ultimate purpose of all academic research is to provide new ideas for the development of a state directly or indirectly. Of course, China's academic also obtained many achievements with the economic development. However, we should not ignore the problems. For example, academic corruption.

Academic corruption has become a serious problem at colleges and universities.Nearly half of the science-related workers in China’s research institutes and universities think academic cheating is “common”, a survey showed.For my part,academic corruption consist of four respects:plagiarism,fabrication,cheating and impersonation.copying a passage straight from a book into a paper without quoting or explicitly citing the source is blatant plagiarism.The falsification of data, information in any formal academic exercise is fabrication.Providing false information to an instructor is cheating. Impersonation is a form of cheating where by a different person than the student assigned an assignment or exam completes it.

I think,there are two main reasons lead to academic corruption.For one

thing,some people put an excessive focus on getting personal interests and money , spend a little effort in academic research. For another thing, there is a serious deviation in the academic evaluation system to appraise the academic institution and researchers. They pay much attention on quantity rather then quality.

It is well acknowledge to us, Academic corruption against both the interests of some people and the academic development of our country.It harm the students which is not light. Students are not only the main part of academic corruption, but also are the victim of academic corruption .It not only undermine the rules of academic research, but also to curb a nation thinking levels.I believe that this issue is a very serious problem in universities today,it is time for us to put an end to academic corruption.Students need to heighten their moral standards by realizing that academic corruption is not just an academic issue but a critical moral issue at first of all.
