After October 1976, the Air Force conducts a comprehensive rectification and reform. After the modernization, combat effectiveness is increasing.
The condition of the newly established People's Air Force is extraordinarily difficult. The picture shows that the pilot just eat corn and pickles as their lunch.
The third-generation fighter
(Mounted weapons’ J-11)
J-11 is the Su-27 fighter which was made in China, and is the third-generation heavy fighter . It is direct that J-11 is the imitation of SU-27.
The first-generation fighter
J-6 is the first-generation supersonic fighter of our country's own production. The number of J-6 fighter equipped more than 3000. It has retired in last year.
Nearly 60 years, the Air Force in the Korean war, land and air defense operations, a total of 1474 enemy aircrafts were shot down, and wounded 2344 enemy aircrafts , created a brilliant record.
The Air Force active duty troops are 0.42 million, accounting for 17% of the total number of PLA. Air Force has 15,000 pilots and nearly 3,200 fighters, there are more than 90 reconnaissance aircrafts and 500 transports, of which 14 are heavy transports

J-10 is the first full independent fighter with independent intellectual property rights, the China Air Force is equipped officially in 2005. And forming the combat in a very short period of time . It is the first thirdgeneration military equipment of China-made.
J-8 also belongs to the second-generation fighter , and is known as the last one second-generation fighter in the world. It is a high-altitude and high-speed fighter, and was developed and produced in the 1970s
