分析从句的成分:主语为we, 谓语为stayed,并且stay为不及物动词,从句不需要宾语。
where代替先行词the hotel在定语从句中作地点状语,相当于we stayed in the hotel。

定语从句的相关概念
1.定语从句:在复合句中修饰名词或代词的从句。 2.先行词:
被修饰的名词,代词或整句话。
There was an earthquake which happened in Tangshan in 1976. 3.引导定语从句的词 关系代词、关系副词:

两种特殊的先行词
(1)当先行词为time,表示“次数”时,应用 关系词that 或省略。如: This is the first time (that) the president has visited the country. (2)当point, situation, case,stage等词作先行词 表示“情况,境地,场合”等意思时,其后常由 where引导定语从句,where在句中作状语。如: Can you think of a situation where this phrase can be used?
②当先行词被形容词最高级或序数词修饰时。
The TV tower is the highest building that has been built in this city.
The first lesson that I learned will never be forgotten
③当先行词被 the only, the very, the last , the just, the right 等修饰时。如: This is the very book that I am looking for these days.
The school where I studied for only two years was three kilometres away. The school was three kilometres away. I studied in the school for only three years
My father was born in the year when (= in which) World War Ⅱ broke out. The man with whom you talked just now is my neighbor. I can’t find the pen with which I was writing .
地点状语=where
当先行词是表示地点的词且关系词在从句 中充当地点状语时可由关系副词where引 定语从句。
The time when I first met Nelson Mandela was a very difficult period of my life. The time was a very difficult period of my life. I first met Nelson Mandela at that time.
