away from the bad boys.” I can’t stand them.

M: Have you tried to talk to them?

W: They never have any time to listen to me. When we are together, they always talk.

M: Don’t complain too much. Think about me. I stay so far away from my parents that I don’t even have the chance to hear them chatting about me. You’re a lucky dog to have your

parents around.

M: You work with many people who speak English as the first language, don’t you, Katie? W: Yes, I do.

M: Do you have any trouble trying to fit in with their conversation?

W:No, not really. They usually talk to me more slowly, you know, sort of slow down.

M:That ’s very nice of them.

W: Yes. They are trying to make me understand, but that doesn’t help at all. It makes me feel really bad.My hearing isn’t the problem!
