the Past Participle as Adverbial 过去分词(短语)作状语
过去分词(短语)作状语:
过去分词(短语)作状语可以表示时间、原因、 条件、让步、方式、或伴随情况等。其逻辑 主语一般与句子(主句)的主语保持一致, 过去分词与逻辑主语之间一般是被动关系。 过去分词(短语)可以转换成相应的状语从 句。

身边围着一群年轻人, 老人感到很高兴。 Surrounded by a group of young people old ______________________________, the man felt very happy. As he was surrounded by……,
