忠县石宝寨旅游介绍

石宝寨位于重庆市忠县石宝镇长江北岸边，距县城45千米。

此边临江十多丈高，陡壁孤峰拔起的巨石，属丹霞地貌。

相传此石为女娲补天所遗的一尊五彩石，故称“石宝”。

明朝末年，谭宏起义，自称“武陵王”，占山为寨，石宝寨因此得名。

清乾隆初年，借助架于石壁上的铁索在山顶修建了一座寺庙，嘉庆年间依山取势修建九层楼阁，1956年又加以修建为12层，高56米，全系木质结构，被誉为“世界八大奇异建筑之一”。

ShiBaozhai located at Chongqing Zhongxian ShiBbaoZhen, Yangtze river north shore,45 km from Zhongxian county . Beside the Yangtze river, it is a huge stone more than 40meters high above the river , belong to danxia landform.
According to legend , the stone is a multicolored stone left by Nue Wa during the time of Healing the world, so it is called Shibao Ming dynasty ,Tan Hong, who calls himself “the wuling king uprising, occupied the mountain as village, Shibaozhai originated. The early qing Qianlong, with the aid of the frame to the cliff ,a cliff ,a temp was built on top of the mountain, during the Jiaqing ,a nine floors castles was built on the basis of the mountain shape, and was rebuilt to 13 floors in 1956. It is 56meters high, all is woodiness structure, known as the “one of
the eight world singula r building”。
