Unit 3 My Friends第一课时

四年级上册英语教案

Teaching aims:

1.Can listen, say, and recognize these words: friends, long hair, short

hair, thin, strong, quiet.

2.Can understand and say “My friend is strong. He has short hair….”

3.Can use these words to describe their friends.

Teaching main point:

Can listen, say and recognize the six words.

Teaching difficult point:

1.Can use these words to describe someone fluently;

2.Can distinguish between “has” and “is”.

Teaching tools:

Word cards, recorder, some pictures.

Teaching process:

Step One: Warm-up

1.Listen to the song “Books and pencils” and sing after it for twice.

2.Write down the title of this unit.

Step Two: Presentation/ Practise

1.Point to a S, act as we are friends (hold the S). Do more and say

“We’re friends.” Guide the Ss to u nderstand “friends”.

2.Point to a girl, say “She is my friend. She has long hair. I have long

hair, too.” Write down “She has long hair.” And then practise this sentence.

3.Point to a girl who has short hair and ask others “Does she has long

hair?” Guide the Ss to answer and learn “short hair”. Point to more Ss to practise.

4.Read after the T with acts about the three words and then check some

groups or single Ss.

5.Point to some Ss, compare and make sentences with “long hair” and

“short hair”.

6.Point to a thin S, c atch up the hand and say “Oh, my god! You’re so

thin. You should eat more.” Point to more Ss and practise “He/She is thin.” Pay attention to the difference between “has” and “is”.

7.Point to another S and say “** is not thin, he/she is strong.”

8.Practise to make sentences with “thin” and “strong” according the Ss

the T point to.

9.Do the act as “quiet”, learn it.

10.Do acts and read “thin, strong, quiet”. Read them in group and then

check some Ss.

Step Three: Consolidation/ Extension

1.Read all the words together with word cards, check some Ss.

2. Show out some photos of the stars as presents, ask them to enjoy them. Ask some Ss to describe these stars. Then ask some Ss to stand before the board as a T to teach others.

3. Guessing game: Ask some Ss to stand before the board as models, the T describe one, the other Ss should guess out who she/he is. Then ask the Ss to describe and guess.

Step Four: Homework

1.Finish “Let’s find out”.

2.Read and write the six words.
