过去完成进行时的用法

The telephone had been ringing for three minutes before it was answered. She couldn’t walk any further. She had been walking the whole day. 比较：
Last night I had been reading a book when the bell rang.（一直在读） Last night I was reading a book when the bell rang.(当时正在读)

二者的区别在于过去完成进行时不能同 某一确定的数量或次数连在一起,而过去 完成时能够连在一起。 Examples: He said he had been losing a lot of weight. He said he had lost 20 ponds.
现在完成时 表示动作已经完成，着重结
果
现在完成进行时 动作未完成，强调动作
的持续性 均表示从过去开始一直持续到现在的动作 I have watered the flowers. (已经完成： 你不用浇了) I have been watering the flowers.(未 完成:一直在浇）
