2.2 Foundation of Modal Analysis Theory with
Prestress
In the process of solving prestressed modal analysis, first,
proceed the linear static analysis, that it is also to solve the
equation(2), then get the stress stiffness matrix which
is used to calculate structure analysis ([σ 0 ] → {S} ),
at last to solve the prestressed modal by using formula (3).
Where, [M] is mass matrix,[C] is damping matrix,
[K] is stiffness matrix,{x} is displacement vector,{F} is force vecto.
In linear static structure analysis, the force has nothing

Abstract: In order to meet the demanding of grinding machine for grinding production line in a steel factory, transmission system of grinding head is designed by use of parametric design software UG. The CAD model made by UG is directly export to the analysis software ANSYS WORKBENCH through the good data interface technology. The linear statics analysis and modal analysis are carried out by using ANSYS Workbench,And the distribution of stress and strain of spiral bevel gear are obtained, and the natural frequency and vibration mode are obtained. The simulation results provide a reference for dynamic design of gear transmission system.

1 Introduction Spiral bevel gear has the ability of stable transmission, large bearing capacity, low noise and etc, which is widely used in aviation, aerospace and engineering mechanical transmission system. Grinding head is the core component of the grinding machine[1]. It will not only bear the vibration produced by the exciting force of internal gear and gear box, but also bear the vibration caused by the impact forced of steel billet while at work. So, it is important to analysis the inherent vibration characteristics of the spiral bevel gear, and to find out the weak points of the gear in work condition, to avoid the occurrence of resonance by improving the structure design. That will improve the fatigue strength and life of the spiral bevel gear, and have important practical application value.
