Abstract
This thesis attempts to make a comparative study of English names and Chinese names in order to have a deeper undestanding of the two cultures.
In the introduction part ,some basic concepts(such as English and Chinese names), contrustive linguistics are defined.
In the middle part， the auther compare English names with Chinese names in threeaspects.
