教学内容分析

The text is taken from Book 2 Module3,reading and vocabulary part and this is the 2nd teaching p eriod of this module. The topic of this module is Music and in the introduction part, the book show s vocabulary relating to different instruments and music styles. Then in the reading and vocabulary part, it gives a passage about three great composers of the Eighteenth Century. It provides various information and background about music for the students.

学情分析

The students have learned vocabulary in this module and known the words related to music and th ey are very interested in information and knowledge about music. But they lack deep understandin g about western musical culture.

教学目标知识与技能

1. Students will be able to give an account of a musician from background, development, achieve ments and influence by using what has been learned.

2. Students will be able to use the past perfect tense in specific situations with the help of pictures.过程与方法

1. Students will be able to relate what they have learned to the specific instruments and different m usic styles with the help of multi-media.

2. Students will be able to find detailed information about the three great composers of the Eightee nth Century and understand the relationship between them by reading the text.

1. Students will be inspired to express their ideas and write an instruction about their favorite musi cians.

Step 1. Greetings

Greet the whole class as usual.

Step 2.Leading in : Picture showing and music showing

T: Lead in the topic by asking the students “As senior high school students, do you feel tired? In s uch situation, what do you usually do to relax yourself? Do you like to enjoy the talent shows relat ed to music?

T: Let Ss enjoy a video from the voice of China.

T: (after the video) Let Ss think about the question “What does music bring us?” and collect Ss’ an swers.

设计意图: Engage Ss’ interest and introduce the topic

Step 3.Word revision: revise the words with the help of pictures and information. 设计意图: Activate Ss’ learned vocabulary

Step 4.Reading

Task 1:Reading for information

⑴T: Read paragraph 1 and 2 about Haydn and answer questions

⑵T: Read paragraph 3、4 and 5 about Mozart and match the time with the right information

Language focus: Show the situations of past perfect tense and take “By the time he was 14, Moza rt had composed many pieces for the harpsichord, piano and violin, as well as for orchestras.” as an example.

T: Let Ss analyze the rules on it.

设计意图: Make Ss experience the time order of past perfect tense.

Further practice: Practise using past perfect tense to convey information with the help the pictures. T: Let Ss finish the sentences.

设计意图: Relate language knowledge to their life and inspire Ss to use language.

T: Read paragraph 6 and 7 about Beethoven and decide if these sentences are true or false . Task 2: Enjoy the reading

T: Let Ss reading the passage loudly and then complete the blanks. 设计意图: Encourage Ss to read information loudly. Task3: Check the detailed information

T: Let Ss play a game to check the detailed information about the three musicians. 设计意图: Involves all Ss in the task and inspires their enthusiasm.

Step 5 :Post-reading

T: Let Ss think about what the three composers had in common to be successful and collect Ss’ ans wers. T: Let Ss discuss in pairs to conclude what aspects we should mention to describe a person a nd collect Ss’ answers. Then summarize the aspects into three.(background, development and influ ence) T: Let Ss talk about musicians they admire most.

T: Show the picture of Langlang and let Ss talk about him. Then Let Ss discuss in groups to talk a bout Langlang from the three aspects with the help of the given information. 设计意图: Enable the Ss to talk about their favorite musicians. Step 6:Presentation

T: Let Ss present the information of Langlang.

T: Show a video about LangLang’s performance and present the teacher’s view on him. 设计意图: Enable the Ss to empress themselves actively.

Step 7:Homework: give an account of a musician you like best , using what you have learned toda y.
