We chant fun rhymes to remember all the color words like red, yellow, green, blue, etc. There are activities where we identify colors and describe objects by their colors. We also sing songs about animals that help us remember the vocabulary."My Body" is Unit 5, where we study the names for body parts. Head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, hands, feet...I found some of the words tricky to pronounce at first. But the textbook has little poems and tongue twisters that make practicing the words engaging and hilarious.Moving on to Unit 6, "My Classroom". This unit focuses on vocabulary related to things we find in our classroom like desk,chair, book, pen, bag, etc. The readings describe a typical school day which I can totally relate to. There are also fun counting activities using classroom objects.The last unit for this semester is "Numbers". Here we learn to count from 1 to 20, recognize numbers, and do simple addition and subtraction. The stories involve numbers too, like the one about a hungry little monster eating numbered cakes! Playing number games from the textbook makes math feel like less of a bore.That's all the course content we cover in the PEP English textbook for third grade, first semester. The units have a good mix of dialogues, stories, songs, chants, and activities. The colorful illustrations and engaging practice tasks make language learning enjoyable.
