牛津英语8B Unit2 Travelling 单元分析及课时教案
一、教材分析:
本单元的主题为旅行,Comic Strip部分通过两只小狗的对话,激发了学生对本单元的兴趣,唤起他们环游世界的欲望,也引出了本单元的语法重点---现在完成时态;Welcome to the unit 中为我们展示了世界上流行的旅游胜地的美丽图片,旨在教授一些风景名胜的名称,并告诉学生们在这些地方可以干些什么事;阅读部分由Kitty 带领我们游玩了香港迪斯尼乐园,让学生们身临其境感知了其中的无限乐趣,并在童话世界中留恋往返,进一步激发了他们对世界名胜的渴望。

词汇部分为学生们介绍了如何在名词后加上后缀“less”、“ful”来构成形容词。

语法部分是在第一单元的基础上进一步学习现在完成时的运用,其中对“have\has gone to”“have\has been to”进行比较,并实现了现在完成时态从瞬间性动词到延续性动词的转换,其中还特别提醒学生注意现在完成时态和一般过去时态的区别。

四、学情分析和教学建议
旅行这个话题,对学生来说从来都不陌生,在经过一年半的学习,学生的英语词汇已经比较丰富,口头表达也到了一定的水平,所以学生可以对他们曾经去过或即将去的风景胜地畅所欲言,在交流中更能激起智慧的火花,唤起他们环游世界的激情。

教学中教师可以采用Role-playing; Cooperating; Pre-reading; While-reading; Post-reading; brainstorming; listening for special information等教学、学习策略,创设贴近生活的情境,利用学生旅游所拍的照片及制作的多媒体课件来展开课堂Work alone, Pair work, Group work 的口语交际活动,让学生在声情并茂的语境中掌握知识,激起语言学习的乐趣。

词汇教学可以通过贴近学生生活实际的例子,由易到难,增加对词汇的理解及掌握;听力与口语教学以角色扮演、模仿对话或复述短文为主,强调对主要信息的获取和输出;阅读教学可以帮助学生把短文变成对话,降低难度,然后过渡到复述短文或模仿描述,并借助多媒体把不熟悉的景点真实化、情
境化,进而让枯燥的文章趣味化;写作教学以填空造句、模仿写作为主;语法教学旨在引导学生掌握规律,反复模仿操练,对于现在完成时态中瞬间动词到延续动词的变形,提醒学生要进行比较记忆,并反复练习、巩固以达到熟练运用。

Period 1:Welcome to the unit
一、教学目标:
1.了解外国城市著名的旅游胜地和受欢迎的景点。

2.熟悉人们在不同景点从事的各种活动。

二、教学重点:熟悉外国城市著名景点并会运用一些描写旅游的词汇。

三、教学准备:录音机,多媒体,投影仪
四、教学设计:
Step 1 Lead– in
Discussion:
1. Each country has it’s places of interest. Let the Ss tell places of interest in foreign countries and write some of them on the Bb.
2. Ask them what people can do if they are in the famous places.
Step 2 Presentation
1.Show the pictures of the places of interest. Teach the new words and pronunciation.
2.Lead them to read the names of places and countries. Do the exercise: match the places of interest and the countries.
Step 3 Group work
1.show the picture of Mount Fuji.
2.Make dialogues. Show the picture of Mount Fuji.
T: What’s this?
Ss: It’s Mount Fuji in Japan.
T: What can people do there?
S1: They can climb hills/ take photos.
Make dialogue about other five pictures in pairs. Practice the dialogue before the whole class.
After reading the new words fluently, let Ss match the parts with lines on their book.
Step 4 comic strip
1. T: Today Eddie is going on a trip. Listen to the tape and answer the questions:
Where is Eddie going?
Is he happy at first?
Does Hobo want to go too?
How does he feel?
Is Eddie happy at last? Why or why not?
2. Show Picture 4. Show the difference between P2 and P4. Try to get their
two’s thoughts. Present the dialogue between them.
3. Read the dialogue after the tape.
Practice the dialogue in pairs.
Act out.

1. Recite the dialogue of comic strip.

Period 2: Reading(1)

3. Kitty is back in Beijing. She is showing some photos of her visit to her
neighbor Julia. Ask Ss to finish the conversation of Part B on page 28.
Step 3 Explaining the language points
Explain the important words, phrase and sentences in the passage.
Step 4 Practicing
Amy went to Kitty’s house for supper. Kitty showed Amy her photo album. Amy
was very excited and asked a lot of questions. Ask Ss to finish Part C on page
29, and then work in pairs to make the similar conversation. For stronger class,
students can add more questions.
Step 5 Conclusion
Understand the reading details better and use some language points to fill in
the blanks on the clue table.
Step 6 Having a revision
Now, it’s an English class. Kitty’s English teacher wants the students to
say something about their trips during the holiday. Kitty has been to Hong Kong.
Suppose you are Kitty, please say something about Hong Kong Disneyland with
your own words according to the following expressions.

Step 2 Presentation
Explain that a suffix is a letter or a group of letters that we add to the end of a word to form a new word.
eg:n. + -suffix ---adj..
The suffix ‘-ful’ means ‘full of’ or ‘having a quality of’.
The suffix ‘-less’ means ‘without’, ‘not having a quality of’.
We can add ‘-ful’ or ‘-less’ to some nouns to form adjectives.
Step3 Part A
1. Tell students that some nouns can take either suffix , some can only take
‘ –ful’, some can only take ‘-less’ and some others can take neither.
2.Work in pairs to finish Part A on page 30. If students are not sure, they
can use a dictionary for help.
3. Check the answers
delight→delightful; end→endless; noise→noiseless; wonder→wonderful
4. Read the words after the teacher.
5. Not all the nouns can add-ful or –less to form adjectives.
eg: friendly, windy, excited, interesting,…

one sentence, and his or her desk-mate use the opposite to make a sentence.

Daniel is asking Millie about traveling. Complete the conversation on page 31 with the correct forms of the verbs in brackets.

Step 1 Revision and lead in
复习用法1:现在完成时态的含义是表示过去发生的或已完成的动作对现在造成的影响
或结果。

特点是既涉及过去,又联系现在;动作是过去发生的,结果是现在存在的。

we use these continuous time adverbials: already, yet, just, ever, never,
recently etc.
eg: Eddie has already eaten Hobo’s food. (The bowl is empty, Hobo is still
hungry now.)
用法2:表示动作或状态从过去开始一直延续到现在甚至将来
Mike went to Beijing two days ago. (The Simple Past Tense )
Mike has been in Beijing for two days. (The Present Perfect Tense) we use these continuous time adverbials: for + 一段时间 / since + 过去的时
间点(过去时的句子)/ these years, so far, over/in the past/last …years etc.
Step 2 Practice: Tell if the following sentences are true or false.
1. I have bought a new dictionary for a week ( )
I have had a new dictionary for a week.()
2. They have been here for two days. ( )

1.If we talk about an action that happened at a point in the past, we will have
to use ‘ago’ and the simple past tense.we use these time adverbials: yesterday,
Last year, in May, in+过去某一年,two days ago, the other day, just now
2. we use these continuous time adverbials to express the present perfect tense:
for + 一段时间, since + 过去的时间点, these years, so far, in the
past/last …years

Step 2 Revision
T leads Ss to revise the Present Perfect Tense, gives Ss some exercises if necessary.
Step 3 Presentation
Ask the students:
Do you like hot weather or cool weather?
Do you like Theme park?
Do you like water sports?
Do you like Chinese gardens?
Do you like buying souvenirs?
Which city do you want to go in China? And Why?
(Ss can discuss the Qs in group of 4 and then share their answers in front of the class.)
Step 4 Holiday plans
1) Read what the students are saying and put a tick in the correct boxes in
the table on page 34.
2) Look at the table and report what the students like and where they can go.
For example: Amy loves Chinese gardens, so she can go to Suzhou to visit the gardens.
3) Listening
Listen to a radio programme and put a tick in the correct boxes on page 32.
4) Fill in the blanks with the information in Part A1 and A2 on page 32.

Step 1 Leading–in
Listen to a beautiful passage selected from Crazy English. Let them enjoy the beautiful pronunciation.
Step 2 Pre–task
1.Present the phrase on the blackboard. ( an + apple ) Let the students read.
If they separate the words, draw a line to link ‘n’and ‘a’. Tell them it’s the first way to link words.
2.Present the phrase ‘best time’, then read and teach them it’s the second
way.
3.Present the phrase ‘we enjoy’, then read and teach them it’s the third
way.
4.Present the phrase ‘go out’, then read and teach them it’s the fourth
way.
Let students practice reading as much as possible.
Step 3 While–task (Part A to D )
1. Listen to the tape, repeat after the tape. (once)
2. Read individually. Give them several minutes to practice.
3. Read the group words one by one.
Step 4 Post-task
1.Make sure that students have learned when to link well. Then test them.
Choose some groups of words for them to read .
eg. bad dog \ weigh it up \ come out \ blew away .
2.Encourage them to read a longer phrases or sentences fluently. Give them
two or three minutes to practice. When they read, they should link the words with pens.

Review No.2 period ‘reading’ of this unit. Ask the students to talk about Kitty’s trip to Hong Kong. If they don’t mention some important information, teacher can raise some questions to remind them.
Step Two :Pre–task
T: If you want to tell your friends about your trip. What important main points should you say? Please tell me the five elements of a passage.
( If they can’t think them out, repeat the sentences or the questions about five main points.)
Step Three :While–task

Step 1 Revision
This section helps students check how much of the new language they have learned and how well their learning strategies are working.
1.Show some pictures and let students tell the names of them.
2.Generalize the words and the phrases in this Unit .
3.Do some ‘T or F” questions about “Reading”.
4.Have a revision fo r the “The definition of suffix”,then do some exercises.
5.Do some exercises about “Grammar”
6.Have a revision for the different people’s hobbies and choices.
7.Ask students not to forget the main elements of writing a passage.
Step 2 Tasks
Task 1
Tell students to read the conversation in Part A for overall meaning first before they begin filling in the blanks. Tell them that Part A includes all the grammar items they have learned in the unit.
Task 2
Ask students to select the correct word(s) from the brackets and write their choices in the blanks. Students should work on their own because this is a chance for them to check that they have fully understood the new grammar items before moving on to the next unit.
Task 3
Select two students to play the roles of Sandy and Kitty. Ask them to read the conversation out loud. Repeat the answers clearly and ask students to check their own work. They then write their scores in the paw. Tell students to refer to the Grammar section if there were any points they had difficulty with. Task 4
Explain the context of Part B. Millie wrote a postcard to Simon about her holiday in Thailand. Ask students to read the postcard first and then complete it using the words from the box. Remind students to work out the meanings of the sentences before selecting the words.
Ask one student to read out the completed postcard. Students check their answers and write their scores in the paw.
Step 3 Homework
Ss finish some exercises about the Present Perfect Tense。
