I. Compare the original headlines with their translated versions. Analyze the translation methods adopted and why they are translated in this way.

英语新闻标题比较精炼概括、重点突出。

汉语标题内容更为丰富、详尽、
面面俱到。

这主要是因为：第一，汉语是单音节语言，每个字单音多义，且大小相等、编排形式灵活（可横排可竖排），版面经济；而英文单词音节数不等，单词长短不一，编排受限（只能横排）。

其二，汉语标题是多层式的，标题内不仅可以有主标题、副标题，还可能有引题。

很多标题本身堪称“超微型新闻”。

英语标题多采用单层式，一般不用副标题。

布什声言：

【评析】：增译。

英文标题的语法不规范，省略教多，不易看懂，中译时要注意准确理解原文。

根据新闻内容，在标题中增加一些词，译文意思更完整。

汉语新闻标题用词重修饰，喜铺排，形式上讲求整齐对仗。

而英语标题行文习惯上讲究客观、平实。

许多中文标题不仅以其简洁精练引人注意，同时也注意运用各种修辞技巧，
既有效地传递一些微妙的隐含信息，又使读者在义、音、形等方面得到美的感受。

而英文标题高度概括、文字俭省。

所以标题英译的一个主要策略就是化繁为简，在突出重点的基础上力求生动。

新闻标题在浓缩新闻内容时，如能恰到好处地用上一个动词，能为表达增色不少。

Kicks off 在足球比赛中原指“开球”，与后面的Violence 一词并用，立即在读者头脑中映出一幅拳打脚踢的场景：原来比赛双方一开球就打了起来。

此处的Kicks off可谓生动幽默，恰到好处。

10.严禁非法金融活动维护经济秩序稳定

【评析】：省译。

汉语新闻热衷于用动词引领标题，英语标题则相反，几乎从不用动词开头。

英语新闻简明扼要，只突出重点信息。

汉语标题还会加上评述。

从标题上看，原文表达比较直白，译文标题仿拟英语习语go through the roof (生气)，具有暗示性和艺术性，容易引起英语受众的阅读兴趣。

从导语来看，原文着眼于政府的政策，符合中国老百姓对政府一贯期望较高并且比较信赖政府的国情；而英文引言避而不谈原文中的政府政策，而将关注的目光投向普通居民，从而使译文体现出生活气息，更具人情味，同时也符合西方重视个人价值的心理。

II.有水则灵，“古运河”再现青春；重心转移，通州显示商机；交通便捷，助动通州“新城区”；经营城市，建委运筹帷幄；从长计议，房地产瞄准精品。
