Last summer vacation, my family and I embarked on an exciting journey to the beautiful coastal city of Dalian. Known for its pristine beaches, refreshing sea breeze, and a blend of historical and modern architecture, Dalian promised us an adventure we would never forget.
Our first stop was Xinghai Square, one of Asia's largest city squares. The open space was breathtaking, and we couldn't resist taking plenty of pictures against the backdrop of the magnificent sculptures and the vast sea. From there, we strolled along the scenic Binhai Road, where we enjoyed the cool sea wind while watching the waves gently caress the shore.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Laohutan Ocean Park. As a marine life enthusiast, I was thrilled to witness dolphins performing acrobatics and penguins waddling adorably in their habitat. Walking through the underwater tunnel was like stepping into another world, surrounded by schools of colorful fish and graceful manta rays.
We also made sure to explore the historical side of Dalian
at places like the Russian Street and the Former Site of the Dalian Treaty Port. The unique architectural styles, a fusion of Russian, Japanese, and European influences, transported us back in time, giving us a glimpse into the city's rich past.
For a change of pace, we ventured to the famous Tiger Beach, where the sandy shore invited us for a relaxing afternoon. Building sandcastles, splashing in the waves, and enjoying local snacks under the warm sun filled our day with joy and laughter.
In the evenings, we savored Dalian's seafood delicacies at Nanshan Night Market. The aroma of grilled squid, fresh oysters, and steaming hot pots created an irresistible feast for our taste buds. It was a delightful mix of flavors that truly captured the essence of Dalian's coastal cuisine.
Before leaving, we took a leisurely walk on the unique pedestrian path in Zhongshan Road, admiring the
four-brick-wide walkway mentioned in many travel guides. It was indeed a special experience, strolling along a path so quaint and charming amidst the bustling city.
Reflecting on our trip to Dalian, I realized that it offered not only stunning natural landscapes but also a deep insight into its cultural heritage. The combination of relaxation,
