说课稿二
Module 1 My First Day at Senior High
(Reading and V ocabulary)
Good morning, Ladies and gentlemen, I am the No.3 candidate. Now I’m very pleased to have this opportunity to share my teaching plan with you.
There are6parts in my lesson plan. They are:analysis of the teaching material, analysis of students, teaching methods, learning methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design.
Firstly I’ll explain the analysis of the teaching material.
Part One: Analysis of the Teaching Material
The first part I will explain is status and function.
This lesson is the Reading and V ocabulary part of Module1My First Day at Senior High, student’s book 1, Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. As we all know, this class is the first English class in Senior high school, which plays an important part in the whole English teaching process. As the saying goes,“Well begun is half done.”So teachers should seize the chance to arouse students’learning interest. In this way, students can gain confidence and are more willing to learn English.
The teaching aims are:
1. Knowledge objectives
To grasp English learning methods in senior high school.
To infer meaning from keywords, context and existing knowledge.
To master different subjects in senior high.
2. Ability objectives
To train the students’ability of speaking and reading.
And students can express themselves bravely and freely.
3. Emotional objectives
Students will be able to improve their confidence and interest in senior high English learning and form a positive and optimistic attitude to English study.
Now I will talk about the teaching key and difficult points.
1. Key points:
The key point is to learn the related vocabulary, such as academic, amazing, enthusiastic, bored, embarrassed and so on.
To grasp the usage of as…as, look forward to, etc.
2. Difficult points:
The difficult point is to tell the difference between adjectives ending in–ing and–ed.And making a good transition between middle school and senior high school English learning.
Part Two: Analysis of the students
The students come from different middle school and they have such a chance to get to know each other. They are exited to learn in new school and make new friends. Meanwhile, some of them have lost confidence and interest in English learning. These students are too shy to express themselves in English. Through the study of this lesson, they can grasp the learning methods in senior high school. Then, they can improve their confidence and interest in English study.
Part Three: The Teaching Methods
I will use the following teaching methods to lead the students learn the new lesson:
1. Communicative teaching method
2. Audio-visual teaching method
3. Task-based teaching method
As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English is to cultivate students’abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use“Communicative”teaching method,“Audio-visual”teaching method and “Task-based”teaching method.
To use these methods are helpful to develop the students’abilities.
Part Four: The Learning Methods
I mainly use researching learning method together with cooperative learning method in this lesson. The learning Methods of this class include pair work, group work, individual work and discussion. With these methods, it can make the class active and stimulate Ss’enthusiasms.
Teaching Aids
Multi-media computer, tape recorder, PPT will be needed in this lesson.
Part Five: Teaching Procedures
Now it comes to my important part-teaching procedures.
Step 1 Lead in
Arouse students’interest by asking them such a question“What are the main differences between Junior High school and Senior High school?”Let them work in pairs and have a discussion.
This question makes them remind their Junior high school life and compare it with their life in Senior high which they enjoy right now.It attracts their attention to the theme of the text, and helps the students quickly melt into the new class.
Step 2 Pre-reading
Firstly, play a video about the introduction of Senior High school life. Ask some questions after it to check students’listening and understanding. Especially some questions about details such as “Describe the scene you saw in the video”;“What the Senior High school life likes?”etc. Secondly, ask students to discuss these two problems:
1. Do you think that work at Senior High school is harder than that at Junior High school?
2. Are Senior High teachers similar to Junior High teachers?
Thirdly, learn some words before they read the text. Deal with the vocabulary on P2 by finishing the questions in the part.
What we do in this step are all helpful for students learning more about the text and preparing for the passage we will learn in the next step.
Step 3 While-reading
1. Scanning
Read the text quickly and try to find the answer to these questions:
(1)What are the differences between Likang’s Junior High school and Senior High school?
(2)What are the two things the English teacher thinks important to do in class?
(3)What are the two things that the English teacher wants to improve?
2. Understanding
Play the tape for the students and ask them to listen & read following the tape in a low voice. Then finish the forth part in Reading and Vocabulary on P3.
3. Careful-reading
Ask the students to read the passage again and find out which word in the box in the fifth part of Reading and Vocabulary on P4. And ask them try to guess the meaning and explain the words in English according to the text.
Ask the students to read the three summaries of Likang’s opinion about the new school in the sixth part in Reading and V ocabulary on P4. Decide which is the best.
At last, ask some questions to check students’understanding of the passage.
The goal of this task is to let Ss get further understanding of the article and check their reading results and the deployment of the reading strategies.
Step 4 Post-reading
In this step I design 2 activities to help the Ss strengthen what they have read and learnt before. Activity1. Discussion.
Teacher will ask students“Is your English classroom like Likang’s? Is your class the same size as his? Are you looking forward to doing your English homework?”Let them discuss with their partners and compare their school life with Likang’s.
The purpose is that let Ss discuss actively and learn by themselves. Ss can practice their spoken language, as well as their expressing abilities.
Activity2. Retell the passage
Read the whole passage and then use the some keywords to try to retell how the story likes.
This activity focus on their speaking abilities and organization of material.
Step 5 Homework
Write a essay: My First Day in Senior High.
Part Six: Design of the blackboard
Finally, I will talk about my blackboard design. To grasp the main idea of reading, I will write the topic and the key words, phrases, and main grammar point on the blackboard.
Key words: academic, amazing, enthusiastic, bored, embarrassed
Phrases:as as,
look forward to + doing sth.
adjectives ending in–ing: interesting, amazing, exciting
adjectives ending in–ed: interested, amazed, excited

In class, I’ll try to use encouraging and polite remarks such as“Do you want a go?”“volunteers”“Well done!”“You did a good job!”“Thanks!”and so on. I’ll get the students to have a competition to develop their quick response. I’ll make full use of modern equipment such as the multi-media and tape recorder to make the class more lively and interesting.
Ⅳ. Analysis of the students:
The students are in Grade1.They are still at an age that would like to have competition with others. They have known something about the earthquakes. Some long sentences are difficult for them to understand. So I will help the students in different levels to learn English.

2.)read silently to get the structure (after several mins I will discuss the structure with the students) Part 1 (para 1) Strange things were happening before the earthquake, bot no one took any notice of them
Part2(para2-3)The earthquake destroyed the city of Tangshan and shocked the people very much
Part 3 (para 4) The army came to help the survivors, bringing hope for a new life

And it can prepare the students for the retelling in next step.)
2.fill in the blank with proper words
