四川省成都市2016高考英语阅读理解二轮基础训练80集连载(12)及(解析)答案
阅读下列四篇短文,从每小题后所给的A,B,C或D四个选项中,选出最佳选项.
Medical drugs sometimes cause more damage than they cure。

One solution to this problem is to put the drugs inside a capsule, protecting them from the body—and the body from them—until they can be released at just the right spot. There are lots of ways to trigger (引发)this release, including changing temperature, acidity, and so on。

But triggers can come with their own risks-burns,for example。

Now,researchers in California have designed what could be a harmless trigger to date: shining near。

infrared light (NIR,近红外线)on the drug in the capsule。

The idea of using light to liberate the drug in the capsule isn’t new。

Researchers around the globe have developed polymers (聚合物)and other materials that begin to break down when they absorb either ultraviolet (UV,紫外线)or visible light. But tissues also readily absorb UV and visible light, which means the drug release can be triggered only near the skin, where the light can reach the capsule。

NIR light largely passes through tissues,so researchers have tried to use it as a trigger. But few compounds (化合物) absorb NIR well and go through chemical
changes。

That changed last year when Adah Almutairi, a chemist at the University of California, San Diego, reported that she and her colleagues had designed a polymer that breaks down when it absorbs NIR light。

Their polymer used a commercially available NIR。

absorbing group called o。

nitrobenzyl (ONB)。

When they catch the light, ONB groups fall off the polymer, leading to its breakdown. But ONB is only a so.so NIR absorber, and it could be poisonous to cells when it separates from the polymer.
So Almutairi and her colleagues reported creating a new material for capsules that’s even better。

This one consists of a long chain of compounds called cresol groups linked in a polymer。

Cresol contains reactive (易反应的) components that make it highly unstable in its polymeric form,a feature Almutairi and her colleagues use to their advantage。

After polymerizing the cresols, they cap each reactive component with a light。

absorbing compound called Bhc。

When the Bhcs absorb NIR light, the reactive groups are exposed and break the long polymer into two short chains. Shining additional light continues this breakdown, potentially releasing any drugs in the capsule。

What’s
more, Almutairi says,Bhc is 10 times better at absorbing NIR than is ONB and is not poisonous to cells.
1. According to the passage, which of the following could be the best trigger?
A. Temperature change。

B. NIR light.
C。

Acidity change。

2。

Why is ONB unsatisfactory?
A。

It breaks down when it absorbs NIR light。

B. It falls off the polymer and triggers drug release。

C。

It has not come onto the market up till now.
D. It is not effective enough and could be poisonous。

3. Which word can be used to complete the following process of changes?
错误!⇨错误!⇨错误!⇨错误!

protected B。

formed
C。

exposed D。

combined

For five days,Edmonton's Downtown Park is transformed into one huge stage where artists are able to share their talents, and where people are able to celebrate and enjoy themselves。

Since its beginning in 1980,the Edmonton Folk Music Festival has been commemorating (纪念)the true feeling of what folk music is all about and that’s the traditional
togetherness(友爱)that is felt when people gather to share stories and feelings through song。

This year will be the sixth year when volunteer Riedel will be offering up her time to the festival。

“People coming off a busy spring and summer have a moment of relaxation."Riedel said。

“It's really easy to relax, and it’s great seeing family and friends have fun together.”These families and friends come from all different kinds of musical tastes。

People who take pleasure in Blues are there,so are people who love Bluegrass。

This festival does its best to develop everyone's musical interests。

With so many years of experience, the festival has become a well.oiled machine, and does whatever it can to make attendees feel as comfortable as possible. There are free water stations throughout the venue (举办地) for people to fill up their travel cups。

When people buy food, reusable dishes are given a $2 plate fee,but that is returned when the plate is brought back.
The festival has completely sold out of tickets, and in record time。

But with big names such as Van Morrison and Jakob Dylan,it's easy to see how that was going to happen。

There is no parking area during the festival,so using the Park &Ride system or Edmonton Transit is highly
recommended。

A bike lock。

up area is provided and will be available Thursday until Sunday one hour before the gates open until 45 minutes after the gates close。

The Edmonton Folk Music Festival begins on Wednesday, Aug.4 with Van Morrison playing the special donation fund (基金)concert, and will finish up on Sunday,Aug。

Searching for airfares often seems like a game that passengers are bound to lose。

Prices change from day to day, even minute to minute. Looking through multiple websites for the best deal can be a big challenge。

Even when you do book, there’s no guarantee that you are going to get the best price.
“You just don’t know when to make a deal. It’s not like buying anything else I can think of,” said George Hobica, founder of Airfarewatchdog. com。

Harriet Levy paid $179 for a recent round-trip flight on American Airlines between New York and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Sitting just one row behind her, Shirley Harrison paid $215. A few rows back,Ellis and Dianne Traub paid $317 each. There were at least 12 fares on the flight, ranging from $169 to $360。

There’s no reason for it,Harrison said。

Fares can change significantly in just a few hours. One Delta flight from New York to Los Angeles jumped from $755 to $1,143 from a Friday to Saturday in late April, then fell to $718 on Sunday. The flight was one of a dozen the Associated Press followed over three months for a vacation between July 16 and 22。

The number one finding:avoid booking tickets on weekends. It’s the most expensive time to buy.
There's no way to guarantee the best fare。

But before booking, travelers should pay attention to this additional advice:
Book on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. That's when airlines most often offer special sales。

Buy in advance, but not too early。

The best time is four to six weeks before traveling. In general, prices for any given flight are highest eight to ten weeks and two to three weeks in advance。

Make use of social media。

Airlines are giving more benefits to travelers who interact with them on Twitter and Facebook. But those specials are often gone within hours。

Choose the stable or the lowest? The fares of some so—called discount airlines, such as JetBlue,Air-Tran,Southwest and Frontier, are less changeable than other airlines, so you can feel more confident that the price will stay the same. But the fares aren’t always the lowest.
In all, there’s no way to guarantee the best fare, but researching different airlines' fares can be the only way to get a good deal。

1. What can we infer from the first sentence of the text?
A。

Airlines often play games with passengers。

B。

Passengers are unable to search for airfares。

C。

It's difficult for passengers to get the best price.
D. Airfares are set in different situations。

2。

By using a lot of figures, the author intends to ________.
A。

discover the rules behind airfares B。

prove airfares can
vary widely
C。

guarantee passengers a low price
D。

show there is standard price for every single airline
3. If you want to take a flight on Christmas, which time can be the best to book a ticket?
A。

September 15th B. October 15th C。

November 15th D. December 15th
4。

Passengers are advised to book flights _________.
A。

at the lowest price by comparing as many airlines
B。

with airlines which are famous for offering discount prices
C。

through two apps on smart phones
D. on some special websites

“So what is Quintura?” you may ask。

“I like the search engine I currently use,My Favorite Search Engine。

Why do I need anything else?My Favorite Search Engine knows everything about every subject I am interested in and I can access all of the information available on the
Web with My Favorite Search Engine。

“Oh,yes!” we answer。

“Indeed! We have no doubt that you have chosen the best search engine for your own search purposes! We don’t want you to part with your favorite ─Yahoo,MSN or Google。

However, what if you think about searching in a different way。

Have you ever raked through the paper card index of a big library? You have to find the necessary letter (or their combination),take the correct drawer, and start sorting through the cards。

Ring any bells? After much time and effort, finally you find the long-awaited card!
Of course web search engines take away the laborious task of sifting (筛选) through paper index cards。

And if you know the book's exact author and title, either search is easy ─on the web or in a library. But what if you know only your general search scope?Neither the author's name nor the book title. In a library, the only way out is to ask a librarian. But on the web, what do you do? You are on your own。

Until now, Quintura is the very know—all librarian!
Imagine a conversation between you and the search engine you use most often,My Favorite Search Engine (MFSE)。

You:I need some books on physics。

MFSE:No problem。

We have a lot of good literature。

You:Oh。

. 。

so many of them!
MFSE:You asked for books on physics, here,I've found some more。

You:No, I need only one branch of physics。

MFSE:But I have all the branches! Thousands of books。

Choose whatever you want。

You: But I need the branch on solid movement:acceleration, friction and so on。

MFSE:Here they are. Books on physics。

. 。

Now imagine beginning the same conversation with Quintura (Qu).
You:I need some books on physics。

Qu:OK! We have a lot of good literature; what branch of physics do you need?
You:Branch?I'm not sure of its name.
Qu:What is your branch about?
You:Solid movement:acceleration, friction and so on。

Qu:Let’s see。

Here is mechanics! Please note this list of books, our visitors mostly ask for these books on mechanics。

You: Thank you。
