This lesson is for the students in Grade8. They have achieved certain English level and have the ability to get the basic idea of the reading material. The students are familiar with the process of making food, so they will be active in class.

According to the English Curriculum Standards, the teaching material and the present situation of the students, the three teaching aims of this lesson are here.

1. To help the students understand this article well by some reading strategies such as predicting and scanning. 2. To help the students know how to make turkey. 3. To help the students express our own festivals and the process of making own traditional food. 四、学习者特征分析
The students at this age are interested in challenges. So I design a task-chain for them to challengeห้องสมุดไป่ตู้in this class.
But some of them don ’ t have good reading strategies. So in this class, I will pay more attention to not only their English studying interests but also reading strategies. 五、教学策略选择与设计

一、教材内容分析
The lesson that I am going to interpret is taken from the English book Go for it published by People Edu’cation Press! This lesson is from Book I of Grade 8 Unit 8 How do you make a banana milk shake? Section B(2b-2d) . The topic of this unit is about cooking. The function of this unit is to describe a process.
This lesson is the fourth period of the unit. The type of this lesson is reading. It is an article about Thanksgiving in the United States. Such a topic relates to American culture, so the students may be interested in this lesson. If the students learn this lesson well, they will be able to talk about how to make turkey. Of course, they will learn to use some useful reading strategies such as reading the title, scanning and so on.
