Second , why not use new words and phrases as much as possible ? Don’t be afraid to use the words or phrases that you learn in class . These new words and phrases always make our passages better .
Third , it is a good idea to write down some wonderful passages or good sentences in your notebook. When you read something that interests you , how about writing it down and try to use it in your own passage later ?It is good for you to improve your writing skills .

Thanks for telling me so much about your home town. Now I’d like to tell you something about my hometown . Dalian . It is in the south of Liaoning Province and it is big city with a population of about 7 million .
Dalian has more squares than many other cities in China . So it is not surpring that it has the biggest square in Asia called Xinghai Square . It was built in 1997. Now it is a great place for sightseeing and outdoor activities .
Dalian is also special for its natural beauty , especially the views of the sea . In summer , people like to do water sports and taste seafood here at the same time . I am sure you will enjoy the seafood because it is fresher and more delicious than that in many other cities in China .
Every year , Dalian attracts a large number of tourists all year round because of its pleasant weather . It is never very hot in summer or very cold in winter . So if you ask me when the best time to visit Dalian is , I will say “ any time”.

Almost all of my classmates have made travel plans for this National Day . Most of them like to travel by train . They think it is the safest and most comfortable way . Ten of the students will choose to take a plane because they think it is faster and more exciting than taking a train . Only five of them will go by coach because it is cheap .
As for me , my favourite way of transportation is travelling by train . For one reason , I think it is safer and less expensive . Compared to taking a plane , I can save at least 1, 000 yuan . Also , it is comfortable especially when sitting for a long time , because I can walk around to relax myself . In addition , I can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way . In my opinion , the train is just like a moving home when I am on it . We can meet all kinds of people and make new friends .

The Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival in China , and it usually comes in January or February . A few days before it , we usually do some cleaning because we want to sweep away bad luck . We also buy something delicious to get ready for it . The Spring Festival is a time to get together , so all the family members usually come back home and have a big dinner together on the evening before the Spring Festival . For children , the most exciting part is that they can get hongbao from the elderly during the festival .
There are many activities to do , such as visiting their relatives and friends , watching fireworks in the evening and watching a special programme on TV. The Spring Festival usually ends on the Lantern Festival .

Everyone knows safety is the most important part in our life . Accidents happen every day . For students , accidents often happen when we do sports , so we should know how to protect ourselves well at school .

Second , when we go upstairs or downstairs , always stand in line and keep following others slowly . Never run downstairs when there are too many students . Also , don’t rush quickly , especially around the corner , or you may bump into other students or teacher s. What ‘s more , stay away from fire and water .
If an accident happens , and someone gets hurt , tell teachers at once and call 120 as soon as possible . Apart from that , we should learn something about first aid when we are free . If we can get some basic medical training , that will be better .。
