Teaching aims(教学目标)
1.会从高度,体重,长度,年龄等方面谈论熊猫,并对小熊猫和大熊猫进行对比。

2. 熟练利用比较级和最高级
Language points(语言点)
要求掌握以下句式: What’s the highest mountain in the world?
How high is Qomolangma?
Which is the deepest salt lake in the world?
Did you know that China is one of the oldest countries in the world?
Baby pandas weigh about to kilos.
A baby panda is around 15 cm long.
Difficulties(难点):会利用比较级和最高级谈论事物
Teaching steps(教学步骤)
I. Review(温习及小结)
T: What have you learned in the last period? Let’s review something important.
1. Work on Grammar Focus: Fill in the blanks according to the Chinese.
教学设计说明:那个环节是温习,回顾讲义上一个课时中的重点和难点,对上一节课的内容进行温习巩固,并为本课时后面的环节学习做好铺垫。

T: You have done very well. But do you know the comparative and superlatives forms of the adjectives and adverbs?
2. Work on 4a
T: Now let’s do 4a. Use the comparative and superlative forms of the words in the box to fill in the blanks. Pay attention to their correct forms.

T: Good, you did a good job. You now know the comparatives and superlatives but can you use them to to describe two things?
3. Work on 4b
T: In our daily life, we often compare two similar things, like which one is the taller of two boys. Now let’s look at 4b. Write two comparisons about two topics, and remember to write only about facts. We will compare two rivers, two cities and two animals.

要求学生能在现实生活中,把两个相同类型的事物用比较级和最高级进行比对。

T: You now know lots of things about geography and biology, and know how to compare two similar things.
4.Work on 4c
T: Write five questions using comparisons. Then ask your partner your questions. 教学设计说明:这一环节是继续温习巩固最高级,同时练习学生的口语。

T: Good, you have done very well about comparisons.
II. Guessing game
T: Now, class, let’s play a guessing game.
教学设计说明:这一环节是Grammar Focus 到Section B 的过渡,调解情绪和减缓压力,并为后面活动的顺利进行做好铺垫。

T: Well done.
III. 1a of Section B
T: Class, look at these pictures of a panda and an elephant, Compare facts about these two animals to help you make sentences.
教学设计说明: 那个环节是听前的准备,通过大熊猫和大象在身高,体重,天天吃多少斤食物等进行比较,既是练习用比较级和最高级来描述事物,又为下一步的听力做预备,尤其是对下面听力材料有一个提前熟悉。

IV. 1b and 1c of Section B
T: Now, boys and girls, if you want to know more about pandas, let’s listen to a conversation.
教学设计说明: 那个环节是听力练习。

听完第一遍做1b,通过听来找数字;听完第二遍做1c, 来填写熊猫的一些具体情形。

V.1d and filling blanks
T: Now, class, I would like you to do pair work. Take turns telling your partner about pandas.
T: Good. Let’s look at a passage. I would like you to complete it using information that you know about pandas.
教学设计说明: 这个环节是听后的练习。

通过做1d 和 fill in blanks, 让学生进一步熟悉听力里的有关熊猫的材料,继续练习比较级和最高级,同时也是口语练习。
