Ⅰ. Analysis of teaching material
This lesson is the second period in Section A Unit 3 Could you please clean your room? It is taken from PEP Junior English Students Book 2 in Grade 8. The topic is “Who should do the housework.” This lesson foc uses on reading. It is close to their life. It trains Ss’ reading skills and develops their responsibity of sharing housework.
Ⅱ. Analysis of the students
Students have learned how to make polite requests and ask for permission, so it has laid a good foundation for the study of this class. They are able to finish some certain tasks but they still have some difficulty in using English to express themselves and communicate with others.

1. Knowledge objectives: learn the new words and expressions
2. Ability objectives: Use reading skills to understand the main idea and details.
3. Emotional objective: Educate the students to do the chores at home and communicate with others politely.

1. Key points : Enable students to use reading skills to understand the main idea and details of the story. Make them understand the feeling changes of Nancy’s and her mom’s.
2. Difficult points: Educate students to share the housework at home and give opinions freely about whether they should do housework.
