一．从考试类型上比较：SAT考试满分为2400，其中阅读800，数学800以及写作800。
由此分数分布可以看出写作部分在整个考试的比重中占了三分之一，其重要性不言而喻。
SAT写作主要题型包括选择题和一篇命题作文。
选择题大部分找句子错误题，主要考察你是否能够改进句子和文章；命题作文要求结构完整并有自己的观点看法。
选择题章节限时35分钟，写作部分25分钟，实行闭卷考试。
美国的作文考试给予考生更多的思维自由，给出的都是一些开放式的题目，无法判断命题者的倾向和喜好，也没有对错之分，可以给考生留下足够的空间。
而我国近年来高考语文基本是150分满分，作文分值60分，时间没有明确规定，实行闭卷考试，字数一般不少于八百字。

我经常抱持比较的心态，希望对比研究中国跟美国，在这个领域也想做点尝试，看看我们到底少了点什么？

现在我们该来考察，中国的这些作文题目有什么共同特点？美国的这些作文题目有什么共同特点？中国与美国的高考作文有啥不同？这种差异带给我们什么启发？
中国的高考作文不是大学命题，而是各省市的高校招生机构雇请专家命题。
我们的高考作文主要有三种形式，给材料作文、命题作文、话题作文。
我们的高考作文特关注国内重大事件，是以社会为取向。
美国的高考作文由大学直接命题。
他们的作文多以问题形式出现，考生回答清楚了问题，大概作文也完成了。
命题者试图全面了解学生的真实经历和价值取向。
由此，我们可以看出中美的高考作文命题存在三大不同点：一是命题主体不同；二是作文题目形式不同；三是考察考生的指向不同。
我个人觉得，美国模式有明显优点。
命题主体应该是大学，因为大学既然要对培养对象的未来负责，就相应该有权决定选录什么样的人进来，那么作文命题该他们说了算。
作文题目以问题形式出现，不限制考生思路，而且涉及每个人的真实生活，有助于考生写出有真实观点的文章。
命题立意应该是关注每个考生。
因此，我主张尽可能借鉴美国这些优点。
